The International Research Team (IRT) at Ecorys Poland is currently seeking a highly motivated Consultant / Senior Consultant with strong organisational skills as an EU Tenders & Business Development Specialist to develop our portfolio for various EU and European institutions, as well as international organisations and donors (e.g. OECD, UN, World Bank).

The role:

Ecorys Poland has been operating as part of the Ecorys Group since 1997, with offices in Warsaw. The company is a national market leader in the field of evaluations and offers a wide range of research, consultancy and project management services. Within the company, the International Research Team (IRT) focuses on working with and for international clients in Europe and beyond.

Our portfolio includes, inter alia, EU-wide studies for the European Commission and EU agencies (DG EMPL, DG HOME, DG RTD, DG ENER, EUROFOUND, EU-OSHA, ACER), evaluations for UN agencies (e.g. UNICEF) and other international actors (OECD, bilateral and multilateral donors), or foreign policy advisory for the European Parliament.

The role can be offered either full time or part time and will be based at our office in Warsaw or fully remote where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the International Research Team, you will be responsible for:
  • Monitoring the market and identifying potential tender opportunities at the EU and international levels;
  • Preparing proposals for supranational organisations (such as the European Commission, European Parliament, UNICEF, EU Agencies, etc.);
  • Managing tender processes: requirement analysis, preparation of tender documentation, collecting administrative documents and references, CVs, submitting proposals online via e-tendering platforms;
  • Supporting tender desk activities by identifying and analysing potential partnerships and project collaboration;
  • Searching for external experts and partners. Building partnerships and business development.
  • Collaborating with project and research teams to develop effective proposal strategies;
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients and business partners, including other Ecorys offices;
  • Monitoring the progress of tenders and reporting results;
  • Ensuring the quality and timeliness of submitted proposals.

What you will need

  • Higher education (preferred fields: administration, management, international relations, economics, or related);
  • At least 2 years of experience in Tender Desk, Tender desk management, business development or a similar area;
  • Previous experience in developing research proposals and applying for funding at the EU level is highly desirable;
  • Knowledge of tendering processes at EU and international levels;
  • Knowledge of European policy-making processes and EU Institutions or/and knowledge of development actors/context;
  • Excellent (C1/C2) English writing skills; knowledge of other languages is an advantage;
  • Proactive, able to self-manage, and eager to take initiative in business acquisition;
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Teams, Word, Excel, etc.;
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure;
  • Strong analytical and communication skills;
  • Ability to work in a team and independently manage tasks;
  • Project management experience is a plus.

Contract type and Remuneration
  • We welcome applications from candidates based in different countries;
  • Candidates based in Poland may be engaged under arrangements compliant with Polish regulations;
  • Candidates based outside Poland may be engaged through a consultancy agreement or another appropriate contractual arrangement;
  • The level of appointment (Senior Consultant or Lead Consultant) will depend on the candidate's experience, track record in business development, and ability to lead projects and proposal development activities.
Salary range and other benefits
  • The indicative salary range: approximately PLN 5,000 – PLN 12,000 gross per month;
  • The indicative salary range is presented in PLN and reflects full-time equivalent remuneration;
  • For candidates engaged under the consultancy agreement, remuneration will be agreed and paid in the EUR equivalent (gross);
  • The final compensation package will depend on the type of engagement, location, seniority level, experience, expertise, and business development track record;
