New opportunities in Flint's Global Markets & Investor Advisory business in Europe Flint’s expanding Global Markets & Investor Advisory (GMIA) business is seeking consultants at both the early and more experienced stages of their careers to support clients operating and deploying capital across Europe. The GMIA Europe team works within Flint's Global Financial Services Practice and Private Markets team to support financial institutions across the range of issues which impact their operations, activities and investments stemming from political, policy and regulatory change. At a time of significant political and policy change, successful candidates will have a unique opportunity to support the continuing development of Flint’s business in this area and work on an exciting array of complex policy and regulatory issues for our clients. This will involve working closely with senior team members across Flint to advise clients on public policy, politics, regulation, and commercial strategy. Our clients include senior executives at asset managers and private equity firms, banks, insurers, pension funds, fintechs, technology companies, blockchain infrastructure, and other financial institutions, as well as alternatives, portfolio companies, and corporates. The GMIA Europe team works across Flint’s Brussels, London, Berlin, Paris, and Amsterdam offices. It is part of a global network of professionals working across the Hong Kong and Singapore offices and the wider Asia-Pacific region and Middle East. We are looking for applicants who can be based in one of our European offices - Brussels, Paris, Amsterdam or Berlin. Some travel to Flint’s other European offices (including London) may be required. Flint provides an excellent professional and educational environment for staff to accelerate their personal and career development. There will be space to engage in discussion and debates on substantive policy and political challenges, as well as significant scope for progression through the company for high performers. For experienced and senior-level consulting professionals, there are extensive people and departmental management opportunities across the firm as Flint expands its network within Europe and internationally. Consultants/Senior Consultants and Managers - Financial Services, EMEA We are interested in candidates with experience working for, or closely with, EU institutions or financial services authorities at either Member State or EU level, as well as those with in-house experience within financial institutions. As a general guideline, our consultants and senior consultants typically have 2–5 years of relevant professional experience. While working in the GMIA financial services team will focus on supporting financial institutions to navigate, prioritise and engage with expansive sectoral regulation, there will be an expectation that the successful candidate will be willing to work across other policy areas rather than only financial regulation. Candidates should feel free to outline any experience in other policy areas in their application, but this is not a requirement. In all cases, you will have: A strong understanding of the current EU financial services policy landscape and how policy decisions are taken. An interest in EU public policy and/or politics. Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills - the ability to quickly dive into new topics and draw out the implications of complex evidence and analysis to give clear strategy and policy advice. Outstanding written communication skills, with proven ability to draft clear documents for internal and external audiences with varying degrees of expert knowledge. Outstanding oral communication skills, including the ability to distil varied information and communicate complex issues to non-specialists. Good organisational skills including the capacity to prioritise, plan and schedule complex tasks proactively, and to comfortably work under pressure and to tight deadlines. The ability to provide effective support to colleagues in building relationships, e.g. through insightful research and briefings, delivering proposals/pitches, providing initial drafts and research as required. In addition, you will be: Personable, confident and professional with good judgement and ability to communicate effectively. Pro-active and responsive to changing needs and demands of our clients, while remaining calm under pressure and self-motivated. Able to work collaboratively in teams and would be the kind of colleague who will add to the strong community we are building at Flint. Able to reach informed judgement and opinions, such that our clients will benefit materially from access to your experience and insight. Able to demonstrate commercial acumen, enjoy achieving outcomes for our clients, and can successfully contribute to a fast-paced business. Your possible start date. Candidates who are selected for interview will be asked to complete a written exercise as part of the process
