COMPANY 🌱

RYZE was founded in 2019 by Andrée Werner and Rashad Hossain, out of a parents' basement 🏠, with a mission to change daily health, starting with the morning routine: a nutrient-dense mushroom coffee ☕🍄 delivering clean energy ⚡, mental clarity 🧠, and immune support 🛡️. Built on a Direct-to-Consumer foundation with a performance marketing engine, RYZE achieved hockey-stick growth 📈 and a community of over 1 million active subscribers. 🎉

DTC remains the foundation, but RYZE has expanded into mass retail 🛒, quickly becoming the #2 item in Target's overall coffee category and is now executing a multi-channel expansion, with a cross-category launch coming in early 2027 🚀.

RYZE is uniquely positioned to redefine how people think about daily wellness. ✨
We're a lean, fast-moving, mission-driven team who believe daily rituals create the foundation for living your greatest life, and we're just getting started! 🌱🔥

WHAT YOU'LL DO 🎯

The Consumer & Shopper Insights Manager is RYZE's voice of the consumer and shopper, translating custom research into clear direction for innovation, packaging, go-to-market strategy, and marketing investment. This role owns the end-to-end research process partnering closely with Marketing, R&D, and Category teams. It's a high-visibility, cross-functional role for someone who wants their insights shaping nearly every major consumer-facing decision at a fast-growing beverage brand. This is the first of four planned hires for a growing Category Management team, which expects to add two Category Managers and a Category Analyst over the course of 2027 as RYZE scales its retail footprint.

Responsibilities will include:

• Own the full lifecycle of custom qual/quant research (concept tests, U&A, packaging/claims testing, segmentation, conjoint/MaxDiff, shopper intercepts) from study design through vendor management to actionable recommendations.

• Select and manage the right methodology and vendor for each business question, balancing speed, cost, and rigor (e.g., online panel providers, qual moderators, shop-alongs, in-market tests).

• Build and maintain a rolling consumer/shopper learning agenda with brand, innovation, and category teams to prioritize research investment against the highest-impact decisions.

• Partner with R&D and Marketing to inform the innovation pipeline, testing concepts, flavors, formats, and claims at each stage-gate, and translating white space into actionable briefs.

• Provide fact-based recommendations on packaging design and structure using shopper research and testing tools where applicable.

• Deliver consumer and shopper insights that shape go-to-market strategy, positioning, and messaging for new and existing products.

• Partner with Marketing to inform marketing mix and spend decisions, evaluating campaign concepts, creative, and channel strategy through a consumer lens.

• Own or co-own brand health tracking with an external vendor and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, adapting the story for technical and executive audiences.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree with 5-7+ years in marketing, market research, statistics, or related field.

• Background in CPG required, with food and beverage industry experience strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated experience leading custom qualitative and quantitative research end-to-end, including vendor management.

• Excellent storytelling and presentation skills — able to turn complex data into a clear, actionable narrative for both technical and executive audiences.

• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple studies and stakeholders simultaneously in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

• Hands-on proficiency with syndicated scan data tools (e.g., Nielsen, SPINS) and shopper data platforms (e.g., Numerator, 84.51°).

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to turn complex data into clear, compelling presentations and reports.

• Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple retailer requests, reporting cadences, and deadlines at once. implications)

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

• Low-ego, team-first: The best idea wins, no matter whose it is

• Self-starter: You see what needs doing and get after it, no waiting for direction

• Comfortable in ambiguity: Fast pace and shifting priorities energize you

• Builder at heart: You're energized by a fast-moving environment where you help create the processes and playbooks

• Mission-driven: You genuinely care about wellness and are excited to help build RYZE's next chapter
