Noa is the home of audio-journalism. We are the largest producer of high-quality narrated articles in the world. We work with top-tier publications such as Harvard Business Review, New York Magazine, The Atlantic and many more to produce narrated versions of their articles – a mix of professional (human) narration and quality-assured AI narration.
Folks can listen on publishers apps and websites or to a curated selection on Noa’s apps and website. There are two pillars to our growing business: publisher narration and consumer subscriptions.
As our publisher narration business grows, we're looking for someone exceptional to join us in the area of Content Operations.
You’ll work closely with Noa’s Head of Content across publisher management, narration production, quality control and overseeing our growing team of AI Producers in a supervisory-like role. You might also be called on to support in other areas of the business as needs be – from customer service to Series production to social media to hiring.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of content, technology, operations and customer service in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
You'll take responsibility for a portfolio of publisher relationships and help ensure that requests move smoothly from the initial article through to high-quality finished audio.
At the same time, you'll work closely with the Head of Content to manage and improve the wider production operation — including supporting and developing our AI Producers, maintaining quality standards, solving production issues and implementing more efficient ways of working.
This is a role for someone who is comfortable getting into the detail. At times you'll be managing publisher requests and coordinating with the growing content team; then you might need to jump in and prepare and quality-assure a handful of articles yourself or investigate a pronunciation issue or fix a narration problem; on occasion you might be reviewing the teams output or interviewing new hires; and once a week you’ll join a team meeting where we review data, discuss objectives and share challenges.
You’ll have significant impact in helping the business grow. And with that comes opportunity for your own professional growth.
While we’re targeting the role at candidates based in Ireland and the UK, anyone can apply. If you’re the right person, we want to hire you, regardless of your location.
Our publishers rely on us to deliver a high-quality service, and problems occasionally need to be resolved outside conventional office hours.
Essential
Particularly Valuable
We're looking for someone who is:
Extremely detail-oriented. Small mistakes matter in our business.
Rational and pragmatic. You can understand the underlying business objective rather than simply following instructions literally.
Entrepreneurial and innovative. You don't just execute processes. You look for ways to improve them.
Highly accountable. You take ownership of outcomes rather than just tasks. If something goes wrong, your instinct is to understand why, fix it and prevent it happening again.
Calm under pressure. You'll sometimes have multiple publishers asking for things, producers needing help and a deadline approaching at the same time. You need to be able to prioritise intelligently without sacrificing attention to detail.
A strong communicator. You can communicate clearly with a publisher, give constructive feedback to a colleague and explain a technical production problem simply. You always keep people updated instead of waiting for them to chase.
This is an opportunity to join a growing technology and media company at a point where the content operation is becoming increasingly sophisticated. We’re small enough that you’ll have huge impact, but mature enough that we’re no longer a scrappy start-up. (We’re profitable and plan to keep it that way as we grow.)
The role is deliberately broad. If you are good at it, your responsibilities and influence will grow with the business.
If you’ve read this far, are excited about the opportunity and meet what we’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply by emailing recruitment@noanews.ie. Alongside your CV, in the body of the email, please share in c. 250 words what you would bring to the table in this Content Operations role.
Please avoid anything AI-generated. We can spot originality and will be screening for it.
