The Opportunity Children Not Numbers is seeking a volunteer Translation Manager (Arabic) to lead and coordinate our team of Arabic–English translators. This role is vital to ensuring that the children and families we support receive clear, accurate , and compassionate communication across our healthcare, casework, and social support programmes. We welcome applicants with strong translation experience, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage a small team of volunteers. About the Role Key Responsibilities Team Coordination Lead and support a team of volunteer Arabic–English translators. Allocate translation tasks and maintain a clear, efficient workflow. Monitor translation requests and ensure timely turnaround. Support team communication and help create a positive, collaborative working environment. Translation & Transcription Translate written materials (Arabic ↔ English), including medical, social support, educational, and family communications. Ensure accuracy, clarity, and cultural sensitivity across all translated documents. Support occasional audio transcription where required . Quality Assurance Review selected translations produced by volunteers to ensure consistency and accuracy. Provide constructive feedback and help maintain translation quality standards. Assist with maintaining shared terminology, style consistency, and best practices across the team. Skills and Experience Required Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken). Strong translation experience; familiarity with medical or social-context terminology is an advantage. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a small team. Ability to work sensitively with material related to children and families. Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Previous experience coordinating volunteers or teams is beneficial but not essential. Commitment Minimum 6 - 8 hours per week , with flexibility based on workload and programme needs.
