About the Role
We’re looking for a Content Strategist – Instagram & YouTube to help build and grow the personal brand of Statiq’s founder, Simon Robert, across both platforms.
This is a strategy-first role sitting at the intersection of content strategy, research, scriptwriting, packaging, audience psychology, and creative direction.
You’ll turn marketing, advertising, paid media, and creative strategy insights into content people actually want to click, watch, understand, and share.
For Instagram, you’ll focus on identifying strong content opportunities and turning them into engaging Reels, carousels, and stories. You’ll research topics, develop original angles, write conversational scripts, and create clear execution briefs for designers and editors.
For YouTube, you’ll think more deeply about long-form structure and packaging. You’ll help determine how videos should open, how they maintain attention, how the story develops, and what payoff keeps viewers watching. You’ll also own titles and thumbnail direction and use YouTube performance data to continuously improve future content.
You’ll report directly to the founder and collaborate closely with Marketing, Creative, Designers, and Video Editors.
What You’ll Own
Content Strategy & Ideation
- Research trends, conversations, competitors, and developments across marketing, Meta advertising, paid media, creative strategy, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Identify timely topics and develop original angles rather than simply repeating existing industry conversations.
- Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of content ideas.
- Understand the audience and the potential click, retention, and share mechanic behind every idea.
- Track what is working across the platforms and turn those observations into actionable content ideas.
- Use AI and research tools to accelerate ideation without compromising originality or quality.
Scriptwriting & Content Structure
- Write and co-write scripts for both short-form and long-form content.
- Develop compelling hooks that capture attention immediately.
- For Instagram, create concise, conversational scripts designed primarily for spoken delivery.
- For YouTube, structure the opening, retention architecture, pacing, mechanism, and payoff of each video.
- Simplify complex marketing and advertising concepts without losing their meaning.
- Build repeatable content formats that can be produced consistently rather than relying on one-off ideas.
- Write in natural, conversational English that sounds human rather than corporate.
YouTube Packaging
- Own the packaging strategy for YouTube videos.
- Write and test titles.
- Brief and provide direction for thumbnails.
- Work with designers on execution while owning the strategic direction behind the package.
- Understand why people click—and how packaging impacts performance.
Creative Direction
- Translate each idea into a clear brief that can easily be executed by the person recording and the creative team.
- Provide direction for on-camera delivery, visual moments, on-screen text, and supporting elements.
- Collaborate closely with designers and video editors.
- Keep execution simple while protecting the core strategic idea.
Performance & Iteration
- Analyze YouTube Studio metrics including CTR, retention curves, watch time, and traffic sources.
- Review Instagram performance, including engagement, shares, saves, and audience response.
- Identify patterns in high- and underperforming content.
- Provide video-by-video feedback on hooks, pacing, structure, packaging, and messaging.
- Turn performance insights into immediate decisions for future content.
- Continuously test new angles, formats, hooks, and storytelling approaches.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a traditional social media management, graphic design, video editing, paid media buying, or production management role.
You will not spend your day scheduling posts, managing Ads Manager, editing videos, designing final assets, or owning client accounts.
Your job is to be the bridge between an interesting idea and a piece of content people actually want to consume.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with strong content instincts who understands what makes people stop scrolling, click, keep watching, and share.
You should:
- Have strong experience with content strategy, ideally across YouTube and short-form social content.
- Have excellent English writing skills, particularly for conversational and spoken content.
- Understand hooks, storytelling, pacing, retention, and content structure.
- Be able to simplify complex ideas without making them generic.
- Understand YouTube deeply and know what works across the platform.
- Have real packaging instincts and understand the relationship between titles, thumbnails, CTR, and content performance.
- Have experience collaborating with video editors and designers.
- Be curious about marketing, advertising, social media, and creative strategy.
- Understand the nuances of creating content for a primarily U.S.-based audience.
- Be comfortable researching unfamiliar topics and quickly transforming them into compelling content.
- Use feedback and performance data to iterate quickly.
- Be proactive—you propose ideas before being asked.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative agency environment.
For the YouTube side in particular, we’re looking for someone who can demonstrate real channel experience: channels you’ve helped build or grow, scripts you’ve written that performed, and examples of packaging decisions you can explain.
And yes—you should know who Gary Vee, Alex Hormozi, and Oren John are.
Nice to Have
Experience or familiarity with:
- Meta Ads
- DTC / ecommerce
- Performance creative
- Paid media
- Personal brand content
You don’t need to be the subject-matter expert on all of these—we have that expertise internally—but you need to be interested enough to understand it and turn it into great content.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 90 days:
- We have a consistent pipeline of original Instagram and YouTube ideas.
- Scripts require minimal revisions and sound natural when spoken.
- Complex marketing concepts are consistently turned into simple, compelling content.
- YouTube videos have clear structures, strong packaging, and repeatable formats.
- Designers and editors can execute easily from your briefs.
- Content feels natural and relevant to a U.S. audience.
- Performance learnings consistently influence the next round of content.
- We have a repeatable system for researching, ideating, scripting, packaging, producing, and improving content across both platforms.
