This role develops compelling, audience-focused content that supports communications, outreach, and stakeholder engagement initiatives, translating complex information into clear, engaging narratives that strengthen audience understanding, drive engagement, and advance mission objectives across digital, print, social, and multimedia channels. THE ROLE M&C Saatchi World Services is seeking a talented Content Writer to develop compelling, audience-centered content that supports strategic communications, outreach, and engagement initiatives across a diverse portfolio of programs. Working closely with communications, creative, strategy, UX, and stakeholder engagement teams, you will craft content that informs, inspires, and drives audience engagement across a wide range of channels and formats. From campaign messaging and website copy to executive communications, digital content, social media, and multimedia storytelling, you will play a key role in translating complex information into clear, accessible, and impactful communications. The ideal candidate combines exceptional writing and storytelling abilities with strong strategic thinking and editorial judgment. They are comfortable adapting tone and messaging for different audiences, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, and balancing creativity with accuracy, consistency, and mission objectives. This is a hybrid role; however, the ideal candidate will live in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region. Key Responsibilities Develop compelling long-form and short-form content for websites, landing pages, campaigns, social media, newsletters, stakeholder communications, reports, and enterprise communications initiatives. Translate complex policy, technical, or programmatic information into clear, engaging, and audience-friendly content. Craft messaging that aligns with communications objectives, audience needs, brand standards, and organizational priorities. Develop feature stories, articles, executive communications, thought leadership content, and audience engagement materials. Support content development for multimedia initiatives, including scripts, storyboards, video content, podcasts, presentations, and digital experiences. Collaborate closely with communications, creative, strategy, UX, design, and stakeholder engagement teams to develop integrated communications products. Ensure consistency of tone, messaging, terminology, and brand voice across all communications channels. Apply SEO best practices, structured content principles, and digital readability standards to optimize content performance. Review and edit content for clarity, accuracy, grammar, style, accessibility, and compliance with established editorial standards. Support editorial planning, content calendars, messaging frameworks, and campaign communications strategies. Maintain content documentation, version control, content inventories, and publishing workflows. Incorporate stakeholder feedback and audience insights into content development and refinement processes. Stay current on content trends, audience engagement strategies, digital communications best practices, and emerging content technologies. Key Attributes Experience developing professional written content within communications, marketing, public affairs, journalism, content strategy, or related environments. Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills. Strong ability to adapt tone, style, and messaging for different audiences, platforms, and communications objectives. Experience utilizing AI-assisted content development, research, and optimization tools to enhance content quality, audience engagement, and workflow efficiency. Curiosity in technology landscape and how AI is changing communications. Experience creating content for websites, digital campaigns, social media, stakeholder engagement initiatives, and integrated communications programs. Ability to translate complex concepts, policies, or technical information into clear and compelling communications. Strong understanding of content strategy, audience engagement, brand messaging, and digital communications best practices. Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across communications, creative, strategy, UX, design, and stakeholder engagement functions. Strong command of grammar, editorial standards, AP Style, and plain language principles. Experience writing for accessibility, SEO, digital readability, and structured content environments. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and content workflows simultaneously. Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills. Experience supporting federal government, Department of Defense, public affairs, international development, or mission-driven communications programs is preferred. Familiarity with content management systems, analytics platforms, UX writing, or content performance measurement is preferred. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, as required by the position. Degree or relevant experience in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media, Creative Writing, or a related field preferred. Eligibility Requirements: • U.S. Citizenship: Must be a United States Citizen (required by government contract). • Clearance Eligibility: Must be able and willing to obtain a U.S. Government Secret or Top Secret security clearance immediately upon employment. • Background Screening: Must be willing to submit to a rigorous federal background investigation, which includes an in-depth review of personal finances, criminal history, employment history, and drug use. The salary range provided reflects the anticipated compensation for this role across our Washington, DC and New York locations. Actual starting salary will be determined based on geographic location, relevant experience, skills, and other job-related factors.
