Reporting to the Director, Strategic Services, the Continuous Improvement Advisor leads and supports improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma, business analysis, project management, and change management practices. This role works with cross-functional teams to understand current processes, identify root causes and improvement opportunities, develop and evaluate solutions, support implementation, and present measurable results.
The Continuous Improvement Advisor applies structured problem-solving, process and data analysis, facilitation, project management, and change management techniques to improve efficiency, service, capacity, client experience, and overall business performance. The role may lead smaller improvement initiatives as well as larger, more complex cross-functional projects, and help ensure improvements are practical, measurable, adoptable, and sustainable.

- Build your Lean Six Sigma skills: Continue developing your skills by working toward higher Lean Six Sigma certifications, such as Black Belt, and taking on more complex improvement projects.
- Help shape Continuous Improvement at AFSC: Play a key role in setting the direction for Continuous Improvement and leading projects that improve how teams work across the organization.
- Expand your knowledge and experience: gaining more experience in data analysis, business analysis, project management, and change management to support improvements across AFSC.
What will you be responsible for?
- Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives using structured methodologies such as DMAIC and PDCA to achieve measurable business outcomes.
- Analyze and map current-state processes through workshops, interviews, observation, and value stream mapping to identify inefficiencies, risks, and root causes.
- Collect and analyze operational and process data to establish baselines, validate improvement opportunities, and measure results and benefits.
- Develop and implement process improvement solutions by translating business needs into clear operational and functional requirements.
- Evaluate and prioritize improvement opportunities based on business value, client impact, risk, feasibility, cost, and strategic alignment.
- Partner with stakeholders to support change management activities, including communication, engagement, training, coaching, and adoption planning.
- Establish sustainable processes through standard work, performance measures, controls, governance practices, and continuous monitoring.
- Provide project coordination, reporting, risk management, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement expertise to support organizational capability building.

- Accountable for delivering results and meeting commitments in a collaborative environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement methodologies, and process improvement tools.
- Experience using data visualization and reporting tools to analyze performance and support decision-making.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, coordination, risk management, and execution.
- Proven business analysis capabilities, including requirements management and solution evaluation.
- Knowledge of change management principles and practices to support successful implementation and adoption.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional initiatives effectively.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, coaching, and data-driven problem-solving skills.

Qualifications
- College Diploma and 3 years of relevant experience in continuous improvement, process or business analysis, project coordination, or a related role. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Experience applying Lean or Six Sigma tools to process mapping, root cause and risk analysis, supporting implementation and adoption of process changes, and measurement of improvements.
