Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Contract Analyst

Location: 1594 West North Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84116

The Division of Water Resources (WRe) is looking for a Contract/Grant Analyst to join its Finance and Administrative Team in Salt Lake City. The Contract/Grant Analyst is responsible for overseeing the creation of contracts and grants and performing various financial functions for the division. We are looking for a detail oriented and self-motivated candidate.

Day-to-day responsibilities of this position:

• Write, review and/or negotiate grants, contracts and/or agreements.
• Work closely with individuals and teams within Water Resources as well as other outside agencies.
• Ensure all required aspects of a contract are completed according to necessary specifications and expectations.
• Review fiscal operations to ensure integrity, accuracy and control of data.
• Meet often with internal management and outside agencies to resolve problems and coordinate services.
• Monitor contract status and associated impacts on the budget to ensure compliance with the terms of the agreement

Qualifications

Minimum or "day-one" qualifications:

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Critical thinking skills
• Detail oriented
• Problem solving and deductive reasoning skills

Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates with an associates or bachelors degree in business or a closely related field.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Interpersonal skills that demonstrate sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
  • Problem solving and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Experience with analyzing data and information to determine inconsistencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to conceptualize, evaluate and implement process improvements.
  • Supplemental Information: Candidates must reside within the state of Utah.
  • Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
  • Work environment, working conditions, physical requirements:
  • Standard office working conditions.
