About the Role:
The Contract Manager supports the Legal Department by overseeing the creation, negotiation, execution, and administration of a wide range of contractual agreements. This role ensures that contracts comply with legal requirements, align with business objectives, and effectively mitigate organizational risk. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and skilled in cross-functional collaboration with the ability to navigate complex legal and business considerations.
What You’ll Do:
Contract Negotiation & Management
- Manage, review, draft, and negotiate client agreements, nondisclosure agreements, business associate agreements, AI addendums, and related commercial documents.
- Guide stakeholders through the negotiation process to ensure contracts are clear, balanced, customer-aware, and supportive of Navia’s product, client service, and mission to help people use benefits correctly and get the most value from their plan.
- Analyze and interpret contract terms and conditions, providing practical guidance to business partners regarding obligations, exposures, operational impacts, and risk mitigation.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all contract terms comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
- Identify potential risks within contractual language and propose solutions to reduce exposure.
- Support Legal and Procurement teams in developing and implementing contract-related policies, standards, playbooks, and procedures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with, Security, IT, Product, Procurement, Sales, Client Service, Operations, and other teams to gather requirements, align expectations, and ensure that contracts support scalable products, customer service delivery, operational needs, and strategic business goals.
- Serve as a subject matter resource for contract-related questions, contracting processes, and product-aware commercial best practices, particularly for client agreements, NDAs, BAAs, and AI-related contracting terms.
Contract Administration & Documentation
- Enhance and maintain the company’s contract database and tracking systems, ensuring accuracy, version control, and completeness of all contract-related documentation.
- Monitor contract lifecycles, key dates, renewal deadlines, and obligations to ensure timely action and compliance.
- Track and report on contract performance, highlighting issues, trends, and areas for process improvement.
Reporting & Process Improvement
- Generate regular reports on contract status, performance, trends, and risks for leadership and department stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to streamline contract workflows, improve documentation quality, incorporate AI solutions, and strengthen contract lifecycle management in support of faster, more consistent product and customer delivery.

What We’re Looking For:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field
Experience: 5+ years of experience in contract management, contract negotiation, or a related legal/commercial role.
Skills:
- Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to manage and resolve complex contract negotiations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex contractual concepts clearly legal, product, commercial, and operational audiences.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience working in-house
- Experience with health care, health care adjacent, and employee benefits laws.
- Familiarity with contract management software or enterprise contract databases.
- Understanding of regulatory, privacy, data-use, and AI-related considerations relevant to client agreements, BAAs, and commercial contracting.
