Role Description The Control Engineer is a full-time, hybrid role based in the USA, with a mix of onsite work at client locations and some work from home. In this role, the Control Engineer designs, programs, and tests control systems, including PLCs, SCADA interfaces, and HMI graphics for industrial automation projects. Daily responsibilities include developing control logic, configuring and commissioning field devices and sensors, diagnosing and resolving control system issues, and optimizing process performance. The Control Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams and clients to gather requirements, prepare technical documentation, and support system upgrades and maintenance. This position may also contribute to training materials and knowledge-sharing initiatives by documenting best practices and assisting in the creation of educational content.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Process Control, including design, tuning, and optimization of automated industrial processes.
- Knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles relevant to control systems, instrumentation, and industrial power distribution.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting automation and control systems, including PLCs, sensors, and communication networks.
- Experience with Motion Control systems, such as drives, motors, and position control in automated equipment.
- Exposure to Robotics integration and programming within industrial automation environments.
- Practical experience with PLC programming, SCADA configuration, and HMI development is highly beneficial.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control narratives; familiarity with industry standards and safety practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Effective communication skills, capability to work in hybrid setups, and readiness to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Willingness to occasionally travel to client sites for commissioning, testing, and training activities.
