JLL empowers you to shape a brighter way.
Our people at JLL are shaping the future of real estate for a better world by combining world class services, advisory and technology for our clients. We are committed to hiring the best, most talented people and empowering them to thrive, grow meaningful careers and to find a place where they belong. Whether you’ve got deep experience in commercial real estate, skilled trades or technology, or you’re looking to apply your relevant experience to a new industry, join our team as we help shape a brighter way forward.
Lead the controllership operations behind JLL's Real Estate Management Services (REMS) business across multiple EMEA countries. You'll manage a team of Senior Associates and Interns, own the financial close, and make sure reporting and compliance meet the highest standards. You'll combine hands-on technical accounting with strategic oversight, and you'll be the link between day-to-day controllership and senior finance leadership. You'll also shape how the function works, driving simplification, standardization and automation across countries.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Controllership Senior Associates and Interns, and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Plan workload and team capacity so reporting deadlines and business needs are consistently met.
- Run performance reviews and career development conversations that help your people grow.
- Own the monthly and year-end close across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, JLL accounting policies and Local GAAP, and escalate complex technical accounting issues to senior management with clear recommendations.
- Oversee statutory reporting, work with external auditors for smooth audits, and make sure tax obligations are met with third-party tax advisors.
- Identify and lead process improvement, automation and standardization initiatives, and drive adoption of new tools and methodologies. Document processes and build training materials so knowledge scales across the team.
- Act as a trusted partner to business units and communicate results, risks and recommendations to senior management. You'll also work with corporate finance, audit teams, tax advisors and outsourced service providers on cross-functional projects.
What We're Looking For
- Strong technical accounting expertise in US GAAP and local statutory reporting, gained in audit (Big 4 or equivalent) or corporate controllership.
- A track record of managing and developing finance professionals, with leadership that motivates people and holds them accountable.
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. A professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA or equivalent) is a plus.
- Fluent English. Additional EMEA languages are an advantage.
- Confidence working in a multinational, matrixed environment, with the adaptability to work across geographies and cultures.
- Clear communication and stakeholder management at every level, from team members to senior leaders.
- An analytical, detail-focused and proactive mindset: you spot issues early and resolve them before they escalate.
- Advanced ERP skills (PeopleSoft preferred) and advanced Excel, plus familiarity with consolidation and reporting tools and with shared service center and outsourced accounting models.
