The National Grocers Association (NGA) is seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Coordinator of Events and Member Support to join its team. Headquartered in Washington, DC, NGA is a leading trade association representing the $250 billion independent supermarket industry. For more than 40 years, NGA has served as the national voice for independent grocers and wholesalers, advocating on behalf of community-focused businesses that play a vital role in neighborhoods across the country. NGA advances the industry through advocacy, education, collaboration, business services, and meaningful industry connections. NGA also supports the industry through its affiliated 501(c)(3), the NGA Foundation. Position Summary The Coordinator, Events and Member Support plays a critical role in delivering a high-quality experience for NGA members, partners, sponsors, and stakeholders. This position operational and administrative support across NGA’s events, membership, and business development, helping ensure that commitments are executed accurately, professionally, and on time. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, service-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys both behind-the-scenes operational work and direct interaction with members, sponsors, and senior industry leaders. Responsibilities Event & Sponsorship Operations Provide organizational and administrative support to the events team to ensure deadlines, deliverables, and event milestones are met. Coordinate the development, production, and distribution of event materials, including signage, badges, attendee materials, speaker materials, and other collateral. Manage the packing, shipping, inventory, and logistics of materials for NGA meetings and events. Provide operational support for sponsorship fulfillment, including registration, logo and asset collection, hotel coordination, signage, recognition, and other contracted benefits. Maintain accurate tracking of sponsor deliverables and proactively follow up on outstanding materials and deadlines. Coordinate across internal teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of sponsor and attendee-facing commitments. Support registration, attendee communications, and other event administration as needed. Provide on-site support at NGA events, helping ensure a seamless, professional, and high-quality attendee experience. Business Development & Coordination Support business development initiatives through prospect research, reporting, outreach preparation, and logistical assistance. Assist in tracking sponsorships, partnerships, prospects, and engagement opportunities to support revenue growth. Research and identify prospective members, sponsors, and partners to strengthen NGA’s business development pipelines. Maintain accurate prospect, lead, and activity information within NGA’s database/CRM. Assist with preparation of sponsorship materials, proposals, reports, and other business development resources. Collaborate with membership, events, and business development teams to coordinate outreach and maximize value for members and partners. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in event management, hospitality, business administration, communications, or related field preferred. 1–3 years of experience in event coordination, membership services, association management, hospitality, or a related field preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-service mindset. Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced environment. Experience with CRM or association management systems is a plus. Willingness to travel and support on-site event execution as needed.
