Coordinator of Volunteers

Role Description This part-time remote Coordinator of Volunteers role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of volunteer engagement and support. Day-to-day tasks include recruiting, onboarding, and scheduling volunteers, as well as providing ongoing guidance and support to ensure positive volunteer experiences. The Coordinator will design and deliver volunteer training, maintain accurate volunteer records, and communicate regularly with volunteers to share updates, answer questions, and resolve concerns. This role also collaborates with internal teams to identify volunteer needs, organizes opportunities that align with organizational goals, and supports community outreach initiatives to expand the volunteer base. The position requires effective use of digital tools to manage communications, track participation, and report on volunteer program outcomes.
Qualifications

• Strong volunteer management skills, including experience in coordinating, scheduling, and supporting volunteers.
• Demonstrated ability in volunteer training to develop and deliver clear, engaging orientation and training materials.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build inclusive relationships with volunteers, staff, and community partners.
• Experience with community outreach, including engaging diverse communities and promoting volunteer opportunities.
• Proficiency with remote collaboration and scheduling tools (e.g., email platforms, spreadsheets, volunteer management software).
• Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a remote environment.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and non-discriminatory practices in all volunteer interactions and program design.
• Prior experience in volunteer coordination, nonprofit work, or community engagement is preferred; relevant education or training in social sciences, communications, or related fields is beneficial.
