Coordinator of Volunteers

Role Description The Coordinator of Volunteers is a part-time, remote role responsible for organizing and supporting volunteers who contribute to AluNile’s community and outreach initiatives. On a day-to-day basis, this role includes recruiting and onboarding volunteers, coordinating schedules, and maintaining clear communication with volunteer teams and internal stakeholders. The coordinator will design and deliver volunteer training sessions, provide ongoing guidance, and ensure volunteers have the resources and information needed to perform effectively. This role also involves tracking volunteer activities, gathering feedback, and preparing basic reports on engagement and impact. The Coordinator of Volunteers collaborates with relevant departments to align volunteer efforts with organizational goals and community programs.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Volunteer Management and Volunteer Training to effectively recruit, onboard, and develop volunteer teams.
• Candidates should possess strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills to build trust, provide clear instructions, and support diverse volunteers and stakeholders.
• Candidates should possess skills in Community Outreach to engage external partners, promote volunteer opportunities, and strengthen AluNile’s presence in the community.
• Experience coordinating volunteers or managing community programs, preferably in a remote or distributed environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Comfort with digital collaboration tools (e.g., email, video conferencing, shared documents) to manage remote volunteer activities.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Relevant education or training in social sciences, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field is beneficial.
