Student Financial Services (SFS)
The Student Financial Services department advances Verto's mission by ensuring students and families can navigate the cost of the Verto experience with clarity and confidence. The team oversees all financial aspects of Verto’s programs, including educating students and families on financing pathways, managing scholarship and discount strategies, and overseeing all activities related to tuition collection.
🚀 What You’ll Be Doing
Responsibilities:
- Supports Student Financial Services activities including setting up student accounts, driving collection activities, processing payments, applying & processing scholarships, issuing refunds and other related activities that take place throughout the student lifecycle. Ensures outstanding accuracy and a very high level of attention to detail at every stage.
- Educates families on funding pathways. This may include producing educational materials, communicating via phone, email and zoom, planning and hosting large scale live virtual webinars, and other avenues as needed.
- Communicates clearly and effectively to students and families, using excellent judgement, nuance and tact. Provides exceptional service and timely responses to students and families across all communication channels.
- Drives collections of tuition payments by following up with students and families with appropriate and consistent outreach.
- Creates and maintains systems and processes that facilitate student-centric scholarship, discount and collections processes, that drive on-time payments and reduce student attrition. Actively participates in process improvement activities as we scale and improve our department over time.
- Utilizes and maintains reporting to manage a full and accurate picture of student payment status, scholarship data, progress toward tuition collection goals, and other related trends.
- Maintains accurate and complete student records with excellent note taking and CRM hygiene.
- Serves as the subject matter expert on Verto’s pricing model, refund policies, exceptions policies and executes on those policies as needed.
- Assists with file reviews, audits and other regulatory requirements as needed.
- Maintain ownership of Verto’s scholarship programs, including reviewing scholarship applications, collecting necessary documentation, awarding scholarships, and maintaining records. Serves as the point of contact for all scholarship related questions internally and externally.
- May coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (admissions, onboarding, marketing, finance, accounting and consulting groups, etc), communicating, educating, and collaborating to problem solve as needed.
- Maintains complete compliance with relevant privacy, compliance and confidentiality policies, manager guidance and best practices.

🧠 What We’re Looking For
Must-have:
- Fluency in English.
- Ability to work remote, this is a remote position.
- Able to travel at least 1-2 weeks per year.
- Must be based in the US, and work on a time zone 1 hour +/- those in the continental US. (Example: GMT -8 through GMT -3).
- One to three years of student or customer service experience and one year of student accounts experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to provide verbal and written information, with clear instructions as to the processes. Ability to present highly complex information in one on one and group settings.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
- Exceptional attention to detail, record-keeping, and ability to follow completed multi-step processes.
- Strong computer skills, including Google suite and Microsoft suites, to include Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Experience with Salesforce or another relational CRM is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, in a fast paced environment, often balancing multiple priorities.
- Experience with Salesforce (or other billing software systems)
Nice-to-have:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Billing, scholarship, and collections experience preferred.
- Financial aid experience a benefit.

💲Compensation
At Verto, base salary is one part of your total compensation package.
Final base pay will depend on your location (aligned to Verto’s compensation regions), as well as your experience, skills, and relevant qualifications. Your recruiter/hiring manager can share the specific range for your location during the hiring process.
United States | Remote — Anticipated Base Salary Range
$50,000 - $55,000 USD
