About Mark & Graham
Established in 2012, Mark & Graham is a leading monogrammed lifestyle brand offering thoughtfully designed personalized products and custom gifts for every stage of life, across home, travel, pet, and baby & kids. The digitally native brand is known for its high-quality, in-house–designed collections, spanning decor, luggage, handbags, and everyday essentials, all customizable with hundreds of monogram options.

About the Creative Team

The Mark & Graham Creative team brings our brand story to life across every customer touchpoint, including site, catalog, email, social, digital marketing, and beyond. As part of the Content team, you’ll help translate each season’s big ideas into compelling, on-brand language that inspires our customer, creates desire for our products, and reinforces Mark & Graham as a destination for thoughtful gifting and personalization.

We’re a collaborative, ideas-driven team that believes great creative work happens when people feel supported, inspired, and empowered to bring their point of view to the table. We value curiosity, craftsmanship, and a strong sense of partnership—both within the Creative team and across the broader brand. If you’re excited by storytelling, style, gifting, and the details that make language feel personal, we’d love to meet you.

Overview of the Role

The Mark & Graham Copy Editor will develop and refine compelling, on-brand copy across customer-facing channels, including e-commerce, email, seasonal campaigns, digital advertising, social media, and catalog.

In this role, you’ll help bring products to life through accurate, customer-focused copy while upholding our brand voice and editorial standards. You’ll partner closely with Merchandising, Product Development, Site Merchandising, and Marketing to support key business priorities and create a clear, consistent experience for our customers.

You’ll work with merchants and product development teams to gather the information needed to tell each product’s story, from materials and construction to personalization details and gifting relevance. This includes reviewing product information, conducting research, and meeting in person to see and feel samples. You’ll identify what makes each product special, clarify missing or inconsistent details, and translate those insights into useful inputs for product copy.

You’ll use our AI tools to refine AI-generated product descriptions. Drawing on the information gathered from merchants, you’ll edit each draft for accuracy, brand voice, and the product details and selling points that matter to customers. You’ll also partner with Site Merchandising to ensure product copy supports discovery, communicates key product stories clearly, and helps customers find the right gift.

Email will also be a key focus of this role. You’ll write subject lines, preheaders, and email copy that support our steady daily cadence, while using email performance data to inform stronger concepts, sharper messaging, and more engaging customer storytelling.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Content Manager, with a hybrid work schedule: Monday through Thursday in our San Francisco office, and Friday working from home.

About the Role

  • Develop compelling, brand-aligned copy across digital channels, including e-commerce product pages, landing pages, email campaigns, digital advertising, and social media.
  • Partner with Merchandising and Product Development to gather product information, understand business priorities, and translate key selling features into customer-focused messaging.
  • Manage product description output in our Airtable-based AI tool, reviewing and refining AI-generated drafts for accuracy, brand voice, product-specific selling points, and marketing needs.
  • Partner with Site Merchandising to optimize on-site content, support product discovery, and communicate key product stories throughout the customer journey.
  • Write subject lines, preheaders, and email copy that support a steady daily cadence, seasonal marketing priorities, and key business initiatives.
  • Use email performance data, customer insights, and creative testing learnings to inform stronger concepts, sharper messaging, and more effective copy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to bring seasonal campaigns, product stories, and brand moments to life.
  • Manage product information workflows, ensuring milestones are met and product content is accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
  • Manage product copy and content updates within our content management system, ensuring requests and product information changes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with brand standards.
  • Proofread and edit copy across customer touchpoints for clarity, accuracy, quality, and brand consistency.
  • Audit, refresh, and optimize existing digital content to maintain brand consistency and improve content performance.
  • Manage multiple projects and shifting priorities, meeting tight production timelines while consistently delivering polished, high-quality work.

What You Bring

  • 3-5 years of experience in copywriting, editing, advertising, or editorial content. Retail or e-commerce experience is a plus, as is experience in technology, lifestyle, magazine, or other editorial publishing.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to distill product information, campaign strategy, and brand storytelling into concise, compelling, customer-focused copy.
  • Experience writing across channels, including e-commerce, email, digital marketing, social media, and print, with an understanding of how voice and messaging shift by format.
  • Strong proofreading skills and the ability to edit your own work with accuracy and objectivity.
  • Organized and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Collaborative and receptive to feedback, with experience partnering effectively with creative teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal communication and project management skills.
  • A pulse on retail trends and an interest in fashion, travel, gifting, and home.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Airtable, Figma, content management systems, and AI-powered writing tools is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
  • Ability to work on-site at our San Francisco office Monday through Thursday, with Fridays working from home.
