How You Will Make an Impact: We’re looking for a scrappy, early-career Corporate Communications Manager to help execute our corporate communications strategy day to day. This isn't a role for someone who wants a playbook handed to them. It's for someone hungry to learn the craft of corporate comms from the ground up, who's comfortable in the gray area of a fast-moving company, and who brings fresh, AI-native instincts about how communications work gets done today. You'll report directly to our Chief Strategy Officer and work shoulder-to-shoulder with senior comms and executive stakeholders, getting exposure well beyond what a typical entry-level role offers. We're not looking for a finished product; we're looking for someone with raw talent, a great eye for a story, genuine polish, and the drive to grow into a strategic communicator over the next several years. Think two years out of school, maybe cutting your teeth at a small agency, ready for more ownership than you're currently getting. In This Role You Get To: Use Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI tools extensively to research, draft, edit, analyze, monitor media, and streamline communications workflows. Find new ways to “hack” and reinvent corporate communications through AI, while applying sound judgment around accuracy, confidentiality, and ThredUp’s voice. Support the development and execution of corporate communications plans tied to business updates, New Ventures initiatives, product launches, and other company priorities. Help coordinate logistics and materials for the quarterly and annual earnings reporting cycle. Draft press pitches, media materials, and briefing documents, and help identify reporters and outlets worth targeting. Monitor media coverage and industry news, flagging relevant trends, competitor moves, and press opportunities. Assist in preparing executives, including the CEO, for interviews, speaking engagements, and thought leadership opportunities. Help manage inbound media inquiries by triaging requests and drafting initial responses for review. Support the annual Resale Report through research, data gathering, drafting, and project coordination. Coordinate corporate events, from planning through on-the-ground execution with particular focus on marketing activations and Resale-as-a-Service initiatives. Partner with cross-functional teams on corporate- and consumer-facing announcements, policy and ESG communications, strategic partnerships, and other high-priority projects. What We're Looking For: 3+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism, marketing communications, or a related field. Experience working in an agency, in-house communications, media, journalism, or another environment requiring strong writing and editorial judgment, with experience working on consumer-facing brands. A genuine knack for storytelling, with the ability to spot a compelling angle and communicate it clearly and quickly. Demonstrated fluency with generative AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT, including practical experience using them to improve research, writing, analysis, workflows, or communications output. An AI-native mindset: you’re interested not only in using technology to do existing work faster, but also in rethinking what corporate communications can look like as technology changes the role. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences. Sound judgment and discretion when working with confidential, sensitive, or executive-level information. Scrappy and resourceful instincts; you figure things out, ask thoughtful questions, and move work forward without needing a detailed playbook. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders at once. A collaborative, coachable approach and genuine interest in receiving and applying feedback. Creativity, polish, and confidence representing ThredUp with executives, media, partners, and cross-functional stakeholders. Genuine curiosity about media, retail, sustainability, technology, and/or the circular economy. Comfort working in ambiguity and in a lean, fast-moving environment. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience. At ThredUp, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $125,000 and $150,000 per year , and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Many ThredUp employees also have the opportunity to own shares of ThredUp stock, ThredUp employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, as well as a discount when purchasing ThredUp stock if voluntarily participating in ThredUp's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Subject to eligibility requirements, you'll also receive other benefits: Comprehensive medical & dental coverage, vision, 401k, life and disability insurance. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. What We Offer: 4-day work week, with Fridays off Hybrid work environment: 3 days in the office and 1 day remote each week Competitive salary (we leverage market data) Many ThredUp employees also have the opportunity to own shares of ThredUp stock and are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards Employee stock purchase plan Flexible PTO (take the time you need) + 13 company holidays Paid Sabbatical after 3 years of full time employment Generous paid parental leave for new mothers and fathers Medical, dental, vision, 401k, life and disability insurance offered We live by our Core Values of Transparency, SpeakingUP, Thinking Big, Infinite Learning, Influencing Outcomes & Seeking the Truth We believe diversity, inclusion and belonging is key for our team At ThredUp, our mission has been built on extending the lives of millions of unique clothing items.
