Kioxia America Inc. is seeking an in-house attorney with experience representing companies on a variety of matters, including specifically compliance and HR matters. Reporting directly to the VP and General Counsel, this attorney will assist with and/or manage a broad spectrum of compliance, corporate and transactional legal work, supporting the sales, marketing, and planning teams, including interacting directly with relevant groups in our parent company in Japan. Responsibilities Support regulatory compliance, including ESG and trade-related matters. Provide advice on HR-related matters and assist in drafting/revising policies/procedures/handbook. Review collateral material for compliance with advertising laws and regulations. Keep informed of new laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the Company, and assisting with the development of policies and training as needed. Assist with corporate governance activities and concerns. Provide advice and counsel on corporate law. Respond promptly to requests from internal clients, and summarize and communicate legal risks in a way that business people can understand that pragmatically balances risk with the Company’s business objectives. Develop a deep understanding of the company’s products, services and business model. 5+ years experience in legal practice, preferably with both law firm and in-house experience. Native/bilingual proficiency or full professional proficiency in Japanese preferred. Excellent organizational and planning skills and the capacity to simultaneously handle a variety of complex matters under deadline pressure. Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills. Ability to form strong working relationships with other employees and partners while maintaining firm adherence to proper legal standards. Responsive and service-oriented attitude. Strong work ethic with an attention to detail. Sound business judgment and strategic thinking. Flexibility and an interest in working on a broad variety of legal matters in order to understand and advise the Company on legal implications of its business strategy. Education Law Degree from a nationally recognized law school and member of the California state bar or eligible to register under California’s Registered In-House Counsel Program.
