About Zerorez

Zerorez is a residential and commercial cleaning company built on its patented Zero Residue® cleaning process, which cleans carpet, upholstery, tile, and other surfaces without leaving behind soapy residue. Through company-owned and franchised locations, Zerorez serves homeowners and businesses across the country. Zerorez is headquartered in American Fork, Utah.

About the role

The Corporate Counsel will handle the day-to-day legal work that keeps Zerorez moving: contracts, privacy and marketing compliance, insurance claims, customer disputes, franchise documents, and practical advice to business teams. This is a generalist, in-house role for an attorney who enjoys variety, works independently, and gives clear, business-minded answers. You will work closely with operations, finance, marketing, franchise development, and the commercial sales team, and may coordinate with outside counsel when matters require it.

Franchise matters

  • Draft and review franchise agreement amendments, addenda, transfers, renewals, and related franchise documents.
  • Support franchise development and franchisee relations teams on day-to-day legal questions.

Disputes, claims, and litigation support

  • Manage insurance claims, including reporting, tracking, and communicating with carriers and brokers.
  • Coordinate with and manage outside counsel on litigation and specialized matters.
  • Assist with discovery, including identifying, collecting, and preserving documents and issuing litigation holds.
  • Coordinate with the operations team to address customer complaints and disputes, negotiate settlements, and draft settlement and release agreements.

General corporate legal guidance

  • Provide practical legal advice to operations, finance, marketing, HR, and leadership.
  • Identify legal risks and recommend workable solutions that fit business goals.
  • Help with corporate governance, entity maintenance, and other projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Utah, in good standing.
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial contracts, corporate, or transactional practice, at a law firm, in-house, or both.

  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to explain legal issues in plain language.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently within a 20–25 hour weekly schedule.

What we offer

  • A meaningful in-house role with real impact on a growing national brand.
