Corporate Development Manager (Origination)

Location: United States (Remote with Travel) - Open to EST/CST Time Zone candidates

We are partnering with a highly acquisitive, market-leading industrial business to identify a Director, Corporate Development (Origination). This individual will be responsible for building and managing a robust acquisition pipeline, developing relationships with business owners and advisors, and supporting the company's long-term M&A growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify acquisition opportunities aligned with strategic growth objectives.
• Conduct industry, market, and competitive research to uncover new opportunities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with founders, management teams, investment bankers, and other intermediaries.
• Lead proactive outreach efforts through networking, conferences, referrals, and direct engagement.
• Partner closely with senior leadership to evaluate targets and advance acquisition opportunities through the pipeline.
• Prepare market analyses, business cases, and opportunity assessments to support investment decisions.
• Track pipeline activity and maintain visibility across origination efforts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders throughout the acquisition process to ensure smooth execution.

Ideal Background

• 4-7+ years of experience in Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Private Equity, Consulting, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success sourcing and developing acquisition opportunities.
• Strong understanding of M&A processes, with particular expertise in origination and relationship management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially minded with a proactive, entrepreneurial approach.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.
• Willingness to travel regularly throughout the U.S. and occasionally internationally.
