The Role

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Travel Manager to lead corporate travel strategy, travel operations, supplier management, travel policy, traveler experience, cost optimization, and travel-risk management.

The ideal candidate will manage the full corporate travel lifecycle, from policy and booking through supplier performance, traveler support, expense management, reporting, and continuous improvement, while balancing employee experience, business requirements, cost efficiency, and duty-of-care responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement corporate travel strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive corporate travel policies, procedures, approval requirements, and booking standards.
  • Manage day-to-day corporate travel operations across domestic and international markets.
  • Oversee business travel arrangements for employees, executives, consultants, guests, and other authorized travelers.
  • Manage air travel, hotels, rail, ground transportation, car rentals, visas, travel insurance, and other business-travel services.
  • Coordinate complex domestic and international itineraries involving multiple destinations and travel requirements.
  • Support executive, VIP, group, conference, event, and project-related travel arrangements.
  • Manage urgent, last-minute, disrupted, and high-priority travel requests.
  • Ensure travelers receive accurate, timely, and professional support throughout the travel lifecycle.
  • Establish service standards for travel booking, traveler assistance, changes, cancellations, refunds, and disruption management.
  • Manage relationships with travel-management companies, airlines, hotel groups, car-rental providers, ground-transportation companies, travel agencies, and other suppliers.
  • Negotiate corporate rates, preferred agreements, service levels, discounts, amenities, and commercial terms.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and monitor contracted service levels.
  • Evaluate supplier pricing, availability, quality, traveler satisfaction, and overall commercial value.
  • Develop preferred travel programs and supplier strategies based on travel volumes, destinations, traveler needs, and business priorities.
  • Monitor corporate travel spend and identify opportunities for cost reduction and value improvement.
  • Analyze airfare, hotel rates, transportation costs, service fees, cancellation costs, and other travel-related expenses.
  • Develop travel-spend forecasts and support annual budgeting processes.
  • Monitor travel spending against approved budgets and investigate significant variances.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary travel costs while maintaining appropriate traveler experience and business effectiveness.
  • Monitor unused airline tickets, credits, refunds, cancellations, and recoverable travel value.
  • Establish controls for travel bookings, approval workflows, preferred suppliers, policy compliance, and exceptions.
  • Monitor traveler compliance with corporate travel policies.
  • Manage travel-policy exceptions and establish appropriate approval and escalation processes.
  • Review travel policy regularly and recommend updates based on business requirements, supplier conditions, traveler behavior, and market changes.
  • Develop traveler profiles and ensure relevant preferences are accurately maintained in approved travel systems.
  • Support traveler personalization for seating, accommodation, loyalty programs, accessibility, dietary requirements, and other approved preferences.
  • Establish processes for managing travel disruptions including flight cancellations, delays, missed connections, hotel issues, transportation failures, and major travel events.
  • Coordinate emergency travel support with Security, HR, executive teams, and external travel partners where appropriate.
  • Support corporate duty-of-care programs and traveler-risk management.
  • Monitor travel advisories, geopolitical developments, natural disasters, health-related travel restrictions, and other conditions that may affect business travelers.
  • Coordinate traveler communications during significant travel disruptions or emergencies.
  • Support visa, immigration, passport, and travel-document requirements in coordination with appropriate specialists.
  • Ensure travel arrangements comply with applicable corporate policies, immigration requirements, security standards, and local regulations.
  • Coordinate with Finance on travel expenses, payment methods, corporate cards, invoicing, reconciliation, and expense reporting.
  • Review travel invoices and supplier billing for accuracy and contractual compliance.
  • Manage travel-management fees, transaction charges, cancellation fees, and other service costs.
  • Develop travel dashboards and reporting covering spend, bookings, destinations, suppliers, savings, policy compliance, and traveler experience.
  • Analyze travel data to identify trends, cost drivers, booking behavior, supplier performance, and optimization opportunities.
  • Establish travel KPIs and service-level metrics for internal teams and external providers.
  • Monitor advance-purchase behavior, preferred supplier adoption, policy compliance, and booking-channel utilization.
  • Support sustainability initiatives by monitoring travel emissions and evaluating lower-impact travel options.
  • Develop guidelines for travel alternatives such as virtual meetings where appropriate.
  • Evaluate travel-management technology, online booking tools, expense platforms, traveler-tracking systems, and reporting solutions.
  • Improve travel processes through automation, self-service capabilities, artificial intelligence, and digital workflows.
  • Coordinate travel requirements for conferences, exhibitions, training programs, corporate events, and large employee groups.
  • Support relocation, project mobilization, site visits, and extended business-travel requirements where applicable.
  • Coordinate with Procurement on travel sourcing, tender processes, supplier evaluations, and contract renewals.
  • Coordinate with HR on employee travel policies, traveler profiles, onboarding, mobility, and duty-of-care requirements.
  • Work with Executive Services to support senior executives and other high-priority travelers.
  • Develop traveler communication materials covering policies, booking procedures, safety, travel tips, and support channels.
  • Train employees and travel coordinators on corporate travel policies and systems.
  • Maintain accurate travel supplier records, contracts, traveler data, policy documentation, and performance reports.
  • Manage travel-related projects, technology implementations, supplier transitions, and policy changes.
  • Lead continuous-improvement initiatives to improve traveler experience, operational efficiency, compliance, and cost management.
  • Prepare regular management reports covering travel spend, savings, supplier performance, policy compliance, traveler satisfaction, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate should have strong experience in corporate travel management, business travel, travel operations, travel procurement, travel program management, or corporate mobility, preferably within an international organization with significant domestic and international travel requirements.

The candidate should demonstrate:

  • Strong understanding of corporate travel management and business-travel operations.
  • Experience managing corporate travel programs across multiple countries and destinations.
  • Strong knowledge of airline, hotel, ground transportation, car rental, visa, and travel-service processes.
  • Experience negotiating and managing travel suppliers, travel-management companies, and preferred-provider agreements.
  • Strong understanding of travel policy development, implementation, and compliance.
  • Experience analyzing travel spend, supplier costs, savings opportunities, and travel behavior.
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness.
  • Experience managing travel disruptions, emergencies, and complex itinerary changes.
  • Strong understanding of traveler duty-of-care and travel-risk management.
  • Experience supporting executives, VIPs, groups, conferences, and complex business travel.
  • Familiarity with online booking tools, GDS platforms, travel-management systems, expense platforms, and traveler-tracking technology.
