Job Summary Serves as primary steward of corporate vehicle assets owned by Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA). Provides strategic leadership for the Corporate Vehicle Operations Team, including workforce planning, talent development, performance management, and succession planning to ensure the organization is positioned to meet future business demands. Prepares annual vehicle forecast and, throughout the year, responds to corporate needs and business influences to ensure the efficient turnover of corporate vehicles. (Approximate average inventory of +/-2500 vehicles of $65 million in value.) Provides managerial oversight to all SOA employee purchase and lease programs, which includes, but is not limited to, the Employee Vehicle Lease Program (EVLP), Retiree Lease Program, and new/used vehicle employee sales. Interprets Corporate Vehicle policies, procedures, and programs; recommends changes, amendments, and/or new policies when appropriate; and frequently determines when exceptions are warranted. Monitors and provides regional oversight to Regional offices to ensure adherence to Corporate Vehicle asset policies and procedures. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Responsibilities Serves as a mentor, leader, and subject matter expert for the Corporate Vehicles Operations Team. Leads, manages, and develops team members to achieve their full potential in this role and prepare them for future growth. Maintains responsibility for team members’ achievement of department goals and adherence to department standards. Completes mid-year and annual reviews for staff and provides direction and coaching to staff on all performance-related areas. Ensures that Subaru of America (SOA) is compliant with all relevant motor vehicle, registration, tax, and vehicle-related state laws by working closely with the Risk Management, Legal, and Tax Departments and the Regions’ Distribution teams. Serves as managerial-level point of contact to these departments/teams and implements policy/procedure updates as needed in response to regulatory changes. Manages SOA Test Fleet program and provides oversight for department vehicle fleets at Headquarters and Regional offices. This includes taking responsibility for annual forecasting, vehicle ordering, coordinating logistics of vehicle transport and delivery around the country, the efficient and secure operations of offsite vehicle storage and delivery facilities, to vehicle turnover and ultimate sale at retailers or auction at vehicles’ end of term of service. Provides strategic oversight of post-repurchase lemon law activities as well as the Corporate Vehicle annual audit process. Manages the following programs: Employee Vehicle Lease Programs (EVLP), Employee Vehicle Purchase Program, and the Retiree Lease Program. Ensures a positive customer experience for all stakeholders in these programs, including but not limited to, employees, immediate family members, out-of-household family members, retirees, and North American Subaru, Inc. (NASI) employees and family members. Maintains responsibility for compliance with all SOA policies and procedures surrounding these programs. Reviews the operations and efficiency of these programs and recommends changes, amendments, and/or new policies when appropriate. Responds to escalations and determines when exceptions are warranted. Oversees Corporate Vehicles Operations Team's computer software and hardware requirements by acting as business lead, subject matter expert (SME), and liaison to Information Technology (IT) Department to ensure implementation of all future system upgrades and enhancements as well as reporting related to areas of responsibility. Oversees the Corporate Vehicles intranet site to ensure current, accurate, and complete information regarding Corporate Vehicle programs. Additional Responsibilities Ensures appropriate training of staff to improve productivity and efficiency, utilizing current systems to their fullest potential. Provides pricing approval for all employee sales that are completed by the Employee Vehicle Purchase Specialist at Headquarters and in all Regions/Zones. Education Bachelor's Degree Required Work Experience At least 6-8 years Required Skills Strong planning and organizational skills and a complete understanding of the Subaru sales structure, including Headquarters functions and processes at Regions, Independent Distributors, and retailer operations such as vehicle order/delivery process, vehicle and accessory pricing, and Regional incentives. In-depth knowledge of Subaru models/equipment, features/benefits, and accessories. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as expertise in Oracle Order Management (OM), Subaru Allocation Management (SAM), and Subarunet systems. Strong attention to detail and analytical and customer relation/communication skills (verbal and written) as well as ability to adapt to change. Ability to interface with all levels of the organization and business partners. Tact and diplomacy to gain cooperation and problem-solving and negotiation skills to overcome daily problematic customer, retailer, marketing affiliate, vendor, or employee situations.
