About Array Marketing

For over 40 years, Array Marketing has been a global leader in retail displays and in-store merchandising solutions. With more than 1,800 employees worldwide, we partner with leading brands including Sephora, L’Oréal, Coty, PUIG, Amazon, and many others to design, engineer, manufacture, and deliver bespoke retail environments that bring their brands to life.

No two projects are the same. Combining award-winning design, engineering expertise, skilled craftsmanship, and state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies, we create highly customized solutions that help the world’s leading brands stand out where it matters most - in store.

Our success is built on the way we work as One Team fostering open communication, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence. We strive to be Better Every Day by continuously learning, improving, and taking initiative. We also Have Fun, creating a positive, engaging workplace where people enjoy what they do and celebrate wins together.

We’re looking for curious, open-minded problem-solvers who enjoy tackling complex challenges, thinking critically, and collaborating across disciplines. If you’re ready to make an impact while helping shape the future of retail, we’d love to hear from you.

Who we need

Reporting to the Director of Commercial Excellence, Array is hiring a Cost Estimator to cover a 12-month maternity leave. As our new Cost Estimator, you will develop accurate cost estimates for highly customized retail display projects, working across materials, manufacturing processes, labour, production requirements, and project specifications. You will review everything from preliminary design packages to detailed engineering drawings and bills of materials, determine the most effective way to produce each project, and work closely with commercial teams to explain your assumptions, pricing, and recommendations.

This is a full-time hybrid contract role based at our 350 Progress Ave, our Scarborough facility. You will typically work three days onsite and two days from home.

What's in it for you

Impact. You will play a direct role in determining how customized retail displays are costed, priced, and ultimately brought to life. Your analysis will help commercial teams understand the economics behind a project, evaluate alternative approaches, and make informed decisions while protecting company margins.

Exposure. Array’s projects are highly customized, so you will work with different designs, quantities, materials, production methods, and timelines rather than estimating the same product repeatedly. You will build on your existing manufacturing and estimating expertise while developing a deeper understanding of plastics, assembly, labour costing, and other production processes.

Grow your career. While this role is being hired as maternity leave coverage, there may be opportunities to continue your career with Array as the business evolves. You will gain insights into a global business. You will work alongside experienced estimators, team leads, and international teams and manufacturing partners, collaborating with Commercial, Design, Engineering, and other teams.

What you will do

  • Estimate custom projects. You will review new project briefs and available information, ranging from preliminary designs and renderings to detailed engineering drawings, bills of materials, and production specifications. You will determine the materials, processes, labour, timing, and other costs required to build each project.
  • Analyze manufacturing approaches. You will assess different ways to produce a project and identify practical, cost-effective alternatives based on quantities, materials, production requirements, and timelines. You will use your understanding of manufacturing processes to question assumptions and identify opportunities to improve cost and efficiency.
  • Build and manage estimates. You will develop detailed estimates and translate your analysis into clear financial documents for the commercial team. You will use Excel extensively to manipulate, validate, and present costing information, while learning and working with Array-specific estimating tools and processes.
  • Partner with Commercial. You will work directly with Commercial team members to walk through estimates, explain assumptions, discuss labour and timing considerations, and answer questions about the pricing. You will bring a collaborative approach to these conversations rather than simply handing over a completed estimate.
  • Manage multiple priorities. You will work on several estimates at a time, coordinating with lead estimators and other team members to understand scope, timing, and priorities. Larger and more complex projects may require several days of focused estimating and analysis.
  • Learn and adapt. You will develop knowledge of Array’s custom manufacturing processes, tools, engineering packages, and different areas of the business. You will work closely with experienced estimators and team members as you build your understanding of Array-specific requirements and ways of working.

You have

  • The estimating experience. You have experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing or production environment. You understand how to assess materials, labour, production processes, quantities, and other cost inputs and turn that information into a detailed estimate. Experience in a custom manufacturing environment is particularly valuable.
  • The manufacturing knowledge. You have experience with manufacturing processes and materials, ideally including plastics fabrication, assembly, cutting, CNC, laser, injection moulding, or similar processes. Experience with metal or wood fabrication is also relevant. Direct retail display experience is an asset, but you do not need to know Array’s specific processes coming in.
  • The Excel skills. You are highly comfortable working in Microsoft Excel and using it to manipulate, analyze, validate, and present costing information. Strong Excel capability is important to this role, with the expectation that you can work confidently with complex costing information and spreadsheets.
  • The analytical thinking. You can look beyond the obvious solution and assess whether a particular material, process, or production approach makes sense given the quantity, timing, and requirements of a project. You are comfortable asking questions, investigating information, and considering alternative ways to achieve the desired outcome.
  • The communication skills. You communicate clearly and confidently with colleagues and cross-functional partners. You can explain an estimate, walk others through your assumptions, and have constructive conversations when there are questions or different perspectives on cost, timing, or production approach.
  • The adaptability. You are comfortable learning new tools, processes, and ways of working. You can adapt your approach to different types of custom projects and manage changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $62,000 - $72,000 CAD annually.

Compensation is thoughtfully determined based on your experience, skill set, and alignment with our internal compensation framework. We’re always happy to answer questions about compensation throughout the hiring process.

What you can expect from the interview process:

  • A virtual interview with a Talent Advisor to discuss your interest in joining Array and in the role. The conversation will be recorded using BrightHire, an AI-powered video interview tool. More details will be shared when you are invited to interview.
  • A 45-minute in-person interview with the Hiring Manager, focused on your estimating and manufacturing experience, approach to problem-solving, communication style, and alignment with the role. This will also be an opportunity to see the Array facility and learn more about the team.
  • A 30-minute virtual interview with HR, if required as a separate final-stage conversation.
