Country Director – UAE

Role Description The Country Director – UAE is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing the organization’s strategy, operations, and representation in the United Arab Emirates. The role includes developing and managing partnerships with local institutions, donors, and other NGOs, while identifying and pursuing opportunities for new projects aligned with the organization’s focus areas. The Country Director will coordinate program planning and implementation, monitor project performance, and ensure compliance with internal policies and donor requirements. This position will also provide leadership to local teams or partners, contribute to fundraising and advocacy efforts, and regularly report on activities and impact to the global leadership.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in international cooperation, preferably within food security, rural development, environmental protection, or related fields.
• Strong skills in program and project management, including planning, monitoring, reporting, and budget oversight.
• Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships with government bodies, NGOs, donors, and community stakeholders in the UAE or the wider region.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent the organization to external audiences and advocate for its mission.
• Experience in strategic planning, country-level leadership, and remote team coordination.
• Understanding of UAE institutional, regulatory, and socio-economic context relevant to non-profit and development work.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Environmental Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
• High level of integrity, commitment to non-profit values, and ability to work independently in a remote, part-time setting.
