Role Summary
The Country Manager - South LATAM (Argentina, Chile, Paraguay) holds full P&L responsibility for OKTO's South LATAM’s operations. The role combines strategic leadership, commercial development and market intelligence to grow the local business sustainably and profitably, operating as a senior individual contributor who works across all internal functions and manages key external relationships to drive country performance.
The core objective is twofold: ensuring current products and services delivered in South LATAM Pod meet client expectations with quality and consistency, while simultaneously anticipating market trends, competitive movements and regulatory change to keep OKTO's product and commercial approach ahead in the South LATAM markets.

Key Responsibilities
P&L Management & Business Performance
- Own revenue and cost performance of the South Pod operation, ensuring targets are met and resources allocated efficiently.
- Balance short-term delivery with long-term growth, protecting margin while enabling commercial expansion.
Product & Service Quality
- Ensure products and services delivered to clients perform as expected; identify gaps or quality issues and coordinate with Product and Operations for resolution.
- Maintain a close client feedback loop to capture satisfaction, pain points and unmet needs in real time.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Planning
- Track developments in the South Pod payments, fintech and iGaming/betting markets to anticipate relevant shifts.
- Map future client needs and market opportunities, feeding structured inputs into the global product roadmap.
- Monitor competitor moves, regulatory changes (with all applicable regulators) and macroeconomic dynamics that could affect the business.
Commercial Development
- Identify, approach and convert new commercial opportunities in South Pod markets, engaging directly with prospective clients in iGaming and new verticals
- Structure and manage relationships with key partners and suppliers needed for the South Pod operation (technology providers, distributors, commercial intermediaries).
- Own senior-level relationships with key accounts, ensuring continuity, trust and long-term contract value.
Compliance & Regulatory Standing
- Ensure OKTO's South Pod operation remains fully compliant with local licensing, AML/KYC and regulatory obligations, working closely with Compliance and Legal.
- Represent OKTO with South Pod’s regulatory and governmental authorities as needed.
- For Chile: Monitor and manage relations involving the CMF (Comisión para el Mercado Financiero), understand the implications of the new Ley Fintech, and track the ongoing legislative process for online gambling regulation.
- For Paraguay: Knowledge of the BCP (Banco Central del Paraguay) frameworks for payment processors and Conajzar for the gaming sector.
Must-have
- 7-10+ years of multi-country senior commercial/general management experience in payments, fintech, PSP/acquiring or iGaming, as well as proven experience in opening new verticals, including P&L ownership, in the broader Southern Cone is highly valued.
- Strong working knowledge of the Southern Cone (Argentina, Chile, Paraguay) payments landscape (card acquiring, bank transfers, local settlement) and its regulatory environment (BCRA and related bodies, CMF in Chile, etc). Specifically:
- For Chile: Familiarity with the local payment ecosystem, including Transbank/Webpay, account-to-account solutions (like Khipu), and the emerging Open Banking landscape.
- For Paraguay: Understanding of the local acquiring networks (e.g., Bancard), mobile money ecosystem (e.g., Tigo Money), and the SIPAP (Sistema de Pagos del Paraguay), specifically the SPI (Sistema de Pagos Instantáneos).
- Proven track record building and growing commercial relationships with merchants, partners and suppliers in a regulated, high-risk or high-volume vertical.
- Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor with no direct reports, driving results through cross-functional influence rather than headcount.
- Fluent Spanish (native/business fluency) and strong working English for global reporting and stakeholder alignment; Portuguese a plus for LATAM-wide coordination.
- Executive-level stakeholder management, negotiation and P&L/financial acumen.
- Based in Buenos Aires.
- Willing to travel frequently within the Southern Cone

- Existing senior relationships across the South LATAM iGaming, fintech or high-risk e-commerce ecosystem.
- Experience operating in a company holding local regulatory registrations/licenses (e.g. Agregador registration) and managing the associated compliance obligations.
