Job Description

Creative Content Executive (Video & Social Media)

Part-time | 3 days per week | Remote | South Africa

About the Opportunity

We are working with a growing creative communications and content production business that is looking to appoint a creative, organised and enthusiastic individual to support a diverse range of video production, social media and communications projects.

This is a varied, hands-on opportunity, ideally suited to someone with foundational experience in video editing and digital communications who is looking to expand their skill set and gain exposure to different areas of content creation and production.

Working directly with the business owner, the successful candidate will play an important role in supporting day-to-day creative and operational activities. Responsibilities will range from editing video content and producing social media posts to coordinating content schedules, monitoring performance metrics, and assisting with project delivery.

Joining a small business at an exciting stage of development, this position offers considerable variety and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, adaptable and keen to learn, with an interest in developing their career within a creative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Video Editing and Post-Production

  • Produce engaging short-form video content for social platforms, covering interviews, events, testimonials and promotional material.

  • Handle LOG footage, carrying out basic colour correction and grading.

  • Use Adobe Premiere Pro (preferred) or DaVinci Resolve for editing projects.

  • Improve and refine interview audio using software such as Adobe Podcast Enhance.

  • Develop video content optimised for social media, incorporating portrait and landscape formats, subtitles and basic motion graphics.

  • Maintain well-organised footage, project files and final exports to ensure efficient production processes.

  • Assist with longer-form video content and documentary-style projects when required.

Social Media and Content Creation

  • Write clear, engaging and accurate social media copy, following established brand guidelines and referencing previous content to ensure consistency.

  • Use existing Canva templates to produce branded graphics and digital content.

  • Coordinate the scheduling and publication of posts across client social media channels, with a particular focus on LinkedIn.

  • Gather, organise and present social media performance data, including engagement, impressions and audience growth.

  • Assist with monthly content planning, editorial calendars and client performance reports.

  • Explore opportunities to transform existing footage and materials into additional social media content.

Creative and Operational Support

  • Provide assistance with production preparation, research and project coordination.

  • Maintain organised client materials, digital asset libraries and project documentation.

  • Help develop proposals, presentations and other materials for clients.

  • Share creative suggestions and contribute to campaign development, content ideas and storytelling.

  • Undertake general administrative and operational duties to support the smooth running of the business.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Practical experience editing video using Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

  • Knowledge of basic colour correction techniques and experience handling LOG footage.

  • Ability to produce engaging, short-form video content tailored to social media platforms.

  • Excellent written English, with a high standard of grammar, clarity and attention to tone.

  • Sound knowledge of social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn, including content development, scheduling, engagement and analytics.

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet competing deadlines.

  • Comfortable managing responsibilities independently while working remotely.

  • A flexible, proactive approach and an interest in learning new software, techniques and skills.

  • A genuine enthusiasm for renewable energy, sustainability and the move towards a low-carbon economy, with particular interest in the wind energy sector.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Canva or similar graphic design platforms.

  • Familiarity with managing LinkedIn content, including scheduling tools and performance reporting.

  • Previous experience producing written social media content for commercial clients or organisations.

  • Awareness of the renewable energy market, particularly onshore and offshore wind developments.

  • Experience within a small creative company, marketing agency or freelance setting.

  • Ability to tailor written content to different brands, audiences and communication styles.

Applicants are not expected to have advanced expertise in every area. A good grounding in video editing and social media, combined with a positive attitude towards learning and professional development, will be highly valued.

Personal Attributes

Alongside the technical requirements, we are keen to hear from candidates who:

  • Have a genuine interest in applying creative communications to support the transition towards cleaner energy.

  • Enjoy working across a broad range of activities and developing new capabilities.

  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Can interpret a brief, seek clarification when necessary, and deliver work independently.

  • Are equally comfortable with creative responsibilities and practical coordination tasks.

  • Bring fresh ideas, take initiative and enjoy working collaboratively.

  • Would welcome the opportunity to develop professionally alongside an ambitious, expanding creative business.

What the Opportunity Offers

  • Broad creative exposure: Gain practical experience across video editing, content production, social media management and communications campaigns.

  • Purpose-driven projects: Work on creative assignments connected to renewable energy, environmental sustainability and the wider energy transition.

  • Direct mentorship: Collaborate closely with the business owner and develop an understanding of the commercial and operational aspects of running a creative company.

  • Opportunity to contribute: Take ownership of tasks, share ideas, and progressively develop creative and technical capabilities.

  • Longer-term potential: As the business expands, there may be scope to increase working hours and assume additional responsibilities.
