Job Description:

We’re looking for someone who is naturally curious and driven to uncover human truth.

First and foremost, you are a fan with passions that span across (but are not limited to) sport, culture and entertainment. You are intrigued by what inspires action and seek to understand how people think. Empathy is an unlock, and you welcome diverse perspectives to help guide your point of view.

You take a step back from assignments to ground in the bigger questions. What makes this fandom tick? What role does our brand play here? How does this property show up in culture? All in the pursuit of new insights that lead to powerful creative.

You’re a passionate storyteller who is comfortable working across mediums. You care how something is communicated, not just what.

The job will have you working with creatives, account leads, technologists, and an expanded strategy division. You can’t help but rally people around the work and create a collaborative creative atmosphere.

THE WORK YOU'LL DO

  • Assist in the creative briefing process, transforming research into a constant stream of inspiration, insights, and thought starters for the creative team.
  • Collaborate with an expanded team (client and account) to distill assignments into strong creative briefs and sell-in creative strategies and positionings.
  • Be resourceful in leveraging existing syndicated or desk research to fortify and inspire the creative process
  • Collect and catalog data and insights, turning research into reports that inspire internal teams and are shared externally as thought leadership
  • Create consumer journeys along with brand positioning, identity, and messaging architectures

THE BIGGER TEAM YOU'LL JOIN

Octagon is the global sports, entertainment, and experiential marketing arm of Omnicom.

We take pride in being Playmakers – finding insightful, bold ways to create play in our work, our lives, and in the world. We believe in the power of play to create big ideas and unlock potential for our clients and talent.

We can put ourselves in the shoes of fans because we ARE fans – of sports, entertainment, and culture at large. This expertise allows us to continually evolve the fan experience across sports and entertainment alongside some of the biggest brands and talent in the world.

The world needs play more than ever. Are you a Playmaker?

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 2-4 years of relevant advertising/marketing experience, ideally in brand planning, strategy, or research
  • Experience in inter-agency projects/collaborations a plus
  • Demonstrated history of developing a narrative or perspective that could be used to impact a creative brief
  • Experience collaborating on research and analysis that uncovered consumer or brand insights
  • Additional experience with brand positioning, campaign creation, strategic frameworks, digital and channel strategies, and customer journeys

The base range for this position is $70,000 – 80,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background pertinent experience, and qualifications.
