Reports to: Head of Growth and Chief Brand Officer
We're a fast-growing beverage brand building a media empire, an entertainment outfit while serving the best product to our customers. We work hard and are laser focused on our company goals. This role is for someone who wants in early at a fast growing company and is ready to work hard to serve the company.
We're hiring a Creative Strategist to own the ad creative engine. Part researcher, part writer, part producer. You start by pulling apart everything we've already run, the winners and the losers, and forming a real point of view on why the winners won. From there you build the persona map, the messaging angles, and the scripts, and you put net new concepts into the account every single week.
You are not a concept-deck person. You are the person who can look at a 3-second hook rate, tell us what died and why, rewrite the hook by lunch, get it to a creator by end of day, and have it live the next day. You hold the voice.
You're someone who:
- Has owned paid social creative for a US DTC or CPG brand and can point to specific ads you briefed or wrote that scaled real spend
- Can tear down a winning ad down to the level of hook, angle, format, proof, and CTA, and then rebuild it three different ways
- Writes the script yourself. Fast, in our voice, not in generic ad voice or AI slop.
- Has sourced, briefed, negotiated with, and fired UGC creators, and knows what separates a creator who converts from one with a nice following
- Reads the ad account daily and argues from data, not taste
- Uses AI as a speed multiplier across research, angle generation, script variants, and editing, and can tell us exactly which tools, for what, and what it saved.
- Knows how to spot and write winny copy for static ads and work with design team to create them too.
Before You Start, Pre-Hire Audit
- You get access to our ad account, our creative library, and our performance data. You come back with a teardown of our top five and bottom five performers, your read on which personas are actually converting versus which ones we think are, and three net new concepts with full scripts. Not a strategy deck. Scripts we could shoot.
First 30 Days, Get Volume and Quality Up
- Ship content. The floor is 6 to 10 new video concepts per week into testing, plus statics, and we expect the winners to come out of your concepts, not out of reusing last quarter's. Stand up a creator bench we can actually pull from instead of scrambling per campaign. Attack whatever you identified in the audit as the single biggest creative gap.
Days 30 to 90, Build the System
- Persona map, messaging matrix, and a hook and angle library that anyone here can pull from. A creative testing calendar with a naming convention that lets us read results at the concept level instead of guessing. A standing roster of creators with rates, turnaround times, and usage rights sorted. Tie it to a 90-day plan with specific targets on creative output, win rate, and cost per acquisition contribution.
Days 90 to 180, Execute and Scale
- Hit the targets we set together. Build the system so the next creative hire plugs in without a six-week ramp. Help define what the in-house creative function looks like as we scale.
- 5+ years in paid social creative strategy for US brands, ideally DTC or CPG with subscription revenue
- A portfolio of ads you personally conceived, briefed, or wrote that ran at meaningful spend, with the performance data to back it
- Fluency in creative-level reporting in Meta: hook rate, hold rate, thumbstop, cost per result read at the ad level, and the discipline to test one variable at a time
- Real UGC creator management: sourcing, briefing, rates, usage rights, revisions, and quality control
- Strong writing. You can carry a distinct brand voice without diluting it
- AI and tooling fluency for faster iteration, with specific receipts
- Self-direction. You set the creative calendar. You don't wait for a brief, you write the brief
- Not a content calendar manager
- Not a brand-deck strategist who hands off and hopes
- Not an agency relationship, we're hiring a partner
- Not an editor role, though you'll work hand in glove with editing
- Not for someone who needs a polished brief before they can start
- Not for someone who needs our voice made safer
Clear outcomes set in advance. Consistent and clear communication. Weekly working sessions, daily Slack, fast feedback loops.
