About Shop

Shop is the consumer brand inside Shopify. Shop has hundreds of millions of users and lets customers discover new brands, pay quickly and safely via Shop Pay, and track deliveries.

About the Role

We are building Shop's creator program. This is a hands-on role. You will find the creators, negotiate the deals, write the briefs, chase the deliverables, track the results and pay the invoices. You will help shape the strategy and own the execution as Shop builds this capability from an early stage.

The mandate: a steady flow of creator content that gets people to install Shop, use it, and discover the brands on it, with a return we can defend. You will work with paid media, data, product, creative, Legal, Finance, and external partners to build a new growth capability inside Shop.

  • Source and vet. Build and maintain a pipeline of creators. Check audience quality, not just follower count: real engagement, audience geography, brand fit, and past brand safety issues.

  • Negotiate and contract. Set rates, deliverables, timelines, exclusivity and usage rights. Work with Legal on contracts and keep terms consistent across the roster.

  • Brief well. Write briefs creators can actually work from: the point, the constraints, the call to action, and what not to do. Leave room for their voice.

  • Run the process. Own the commercial and operating lifecycle from sourcing through delivery, rights clearance, payment, and renewal. Build reliable systems that keep launches, rights, payments, and partner commitments on track.

  • Track and attribute. Own tracked links, promo codes and deep links for every creator. Make sure attribution works before content goes live.

  • Read and improve performance. Use reporting to assess views, engagement, installs, new buyers, cost per outcome, and lift by creator and format. Spot data-quality issues, support tests, and turn findings into decisions about roster, format, brief, or spend.

  • Feed the rest of the funnel. Identify the creator content worth licensing for paid and lifecycle use, secure the rights, and hand it over.

  • Stay compliant. Disclosure requirements, usage windows, music and IP rights, platform rules, and gifting and payment policies. Get this right every time.

  • Scale the operation. Build tiers, templates, trackers, rights records, and documentation that let one person run many creators across seeding, always-on ambassador, and campaign programs.

  • Know the space. Track who is emerging, what formats are working, and which creators are already talking about the brands on Shop.

  • Use AI. Put AI tools to work on creator research, vetting, brief drafting and performance analysis.

What you'll own

  • The creator and influencer program end to end: sourcing, vetting, negotiation, contracting, briefing, delivery and payment.

  • The creator roster and pipeline, including tiering and always-on versus campaign-based relationships.

  • Rates, budgets and payment tracking, with forecasts you can defend.

  • Creator activation tracking, performance reporting, and decisions by creator, format, and campaign, plus lift testing on the program overall.

  • Content rights and licensing, including handing usable assets to paid and lifecycle teams.

  • Compliance and brand safety: disclosure, usage terms, music and IP rights, platform policy.

  • Creator experience — fast responses, clear briefs, on-time payment, and a reason to work with us again.

  • Creator workflow tooling, templates, trackers, rights records, and documentation.

  • Proposals for the next test or creator category, backed by data.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years in creator, influencer or social marketing at a consumer tech company, consumer brand, or agency.

  • Hands-on ownership of a creator program at volume. You have personally sourced, negotiated with and managed dozens of creators, not briefed an agency to do it.

  • Track record building a program, not only running an established one.

  • Real fluency in the space: platform mechanics on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, current formats, and how creator pricing actually works.

  • Strong analytical skills. You can build the tracker, read the performance data, calculate cost per outcome and design a simple test to prove lift.

  • Experience negotiating rates and terms, and holding creators to deliverables without damaging the relationship.

  • Exceptional attention to detail. Wrong link, missing disclosure, expired usage right and unpaid invoice are the failure modes here, and you catch them first.

  • Good taste and creative judgment. You can tell whether a piece of content will land before it posts.

  • Working knowledge of disclosure and rights requirements, and experience working with Legal on creator contracts.

  • Clear, concise written communication. Short readouts, plain conclusions, no burying bad results.

  • Comfortable with creator management tooling and building your own spreadsheets and trackers where tooling falls short.

  • Bonus: fashion, beauty, entertainment or sport; affiliate or commission-based creator models; multi-market programs; short-form video production.

About Shopify

Opportunity is not evenly distributed. Shopify puts independence within reach for anyone with a dream to start a business. We propel entrepreneurs and enterprises to scale the heights of their potential. Since 2006, we've grown to over 8,300 employees and generated over $1 trillion in sales for millions of merchants in 175 countries.

This is life-defining work that directly impacts people's lives as much as it transforms your own. This is putting the power of the few in the hands of the many, is a future with more voices rather than fewer, and is creating more choices instead of an elite option.

About you

Moving at our pace brings a lot of change, complexity, and ambiguity—and a little bit of chaos. Shopifolk thrive on that and are comfortable being uncomfortable. That means Shopify is not the right place for everyone.

Before you apply, consider if you can:

  • Care deeply about what you do and about making commerce better for everyone

  • Excel by seeking professional and personal hypergrowth

  • Keep up with an unrelenting pace (the week, not the quarter)

  • Be resilient and resourceful in face of ambiguity and thrive on (rather than endure) change

  • Bring critical thought and opinion

  • Put AI agents and tools to work on the tasks they're built for, and focus on the work only humans can do

  • Embrace differences and disagreement to get shit done and move forward

  • Work digital-first for your daily work

We may use AI-enabled tools to screen, select, and assess applications. All AI outputs are reviewed and validated by our recruitment team.
