AIR Control Concepts is seeking a Credit Analyst to join our Shared Services team. This role is primarily focused on credit risk assessment, customer creditworthiness evaluation, credit limit management, and ongoing monitoring of customer financial health within a fast-paced, project-driven environment. A portion of the role (approximately 20%) supports accounts receivable analysis and collections.
The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical thinking, sound judgment, and experience evaluating credit risk across large customer accounts. This individual will work closely with our accounting, sales, project management, and operations teams to establish and maintain appropriate credit terms, mitigate financial exposure, and support healthy cash flow across multiple projects and customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, trade references, and payment history.
• Establish, recommend, and periodically review customer credit limits and payment terms based on risk assessment and account performance.
• Monitor existing accounts for changes in credit risk, including deteriorating payment patterns, credit hold decisions, and exposure on large project balances.
• Process and review credit applications, conduct credit investigations, and make approval recommendations within established authority levels.
• Prepare credit risk reporting and analysis, including portfolio risk exposure, credit limit utilization, and customer risk ratings.
• Coordinate credit risk mitigation tools such as lien rights, joint check agreements, personal guarantees, and bonding where appropriate.
• Support accounts receivable and collections activities including reviewing AR aging, following up on past-due high-risk accounts, and partnering with our AR team on escalations.
• Maintain accurate customer credit records and ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, credit policy, contract requirements, and internal controls.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives focused on credit evaluation, risk monitoring, and the overall credit approval workflow.
• Set up new customers in ERP and maintain existing customers.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support business operations; however, such duties will be reasonable, job-related, and consistent with the scope, level, and classification of the position.
Experience and Requirements:
Required
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience in credit analysis, commercial credit, or credit risk assessment, with a strong preference for candidates who also bring two or more years of accounts receivable and/or collections experience.
• In-depth knowledge of financial statement analysis, credit reporting agencies (D&B, Moody's, or comparable), and commercial credit risk evaluation.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis, and modeling.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate credit decisions clearly and tactfully with customers, sales, and internal operations teams.
• Hands-on experience with ERP and accounting systems in a high-volume environment, including but not limited to Zendesk, FACTS, and Oracle.
• Self-starter capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• NACM credit certification (CBA, CBF, or CCE).
• B2B credit experience within construction, specialty contracting, engineering, manufacturing, government projects, or similar project-based environments.
• Construction or specialty trade industry exposure.
• Experience supporting large commercial or industrial projects.
• Familiarity with construction credit, mechanic's lien rights, and joint check or bond claim processes.
