The Credit Controller manages the day-to-day accounts receivable and collections activity across an assigned portfolio of B2B customers, working within established processes and with guidance from senior team members and the Credit Control Manager. The focus is timely cash collection, accurate cash posting, and prompt resolution of routine billing queries, escalating more complex accounts and disputes as needed. What You'll Do: Collections and Cash Manage day-to-day collections across an assigned portfolio, chasing overdue payments and following up with customers to bring cash in on time. Perform cash application and posting, ensuring receipts are accurately and promptly allocated to customer accounts. Prioritise daily workload based on account aging and collection priority, escalating higher-risk or complex accounts to senior team members. Flag at-risk or deteriorating accounts to the Credit Control Manager for guidance. Case Queue and Query Resolution Manage and resolve routine AR and billing cases within defined SLAs, escalating complex cases to a senior Credit Controller or the manager. Research and resolve standard billing queries, partnering with Billing, Sales, and Account Management as needed. Maintain accurate, timely notes and documentation on all account activity. Cross-Functional Support Respond to routine AR questions from internal teams and escalate anything outside standard guidance. Partner with Billing on invoice queries and with the wider European finance team on account maintenance. Reporting and Close Support Assist in preparing AR aging reports and account updates. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities under the direction of senior team members. Provide documentation and reconciliations for assigned accounts to support audit requests. Who You Are: 1-3 years of experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or a related finance role. Formal qualifications are not required - relevant hands-on experience matters most. Experience in B2B collections and customer-facing payment follow-up. Working knowledge of core AR processes including cash application/posting, account reconciliation, and query resolution. Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems; NetSuite experience an advantage. Comfortable working within established processes and taking direction, while developing the confidence to manage a portfolio independently. Good organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently during UK/EMEA hours. Clear communicator with a collaborative approach across Sales, Billing, and Account Management.
