Commercial Finance is at the heart of Sky’s success. Our business partnering model is central to our role as a trusted advisor to the Exec and business. We strive to be a world-class Commercial Finance team - that means we’re forward looking and restless. Our work provides the support for great decisions and financial out-performance through quick, clear actionable insight alongside building best in class analytical and cost transformation capabilities. We recognise that getting the best from our team is the key to success, providing excellent development, support and progression in a diverse, inclusive and high-performance environment
Role/Team overview
The Credit Risk team protects customers from taking on unsustainable debt while supporting Sky’s commercial ambitions across the UK and Ireland. We work across product, commercial, finance, trading and operational teams to understand portfolio performance and improve outcomes for customers and the business.
This is an exciting time to join us. You will have the opportunity to shape how the team communicates performance, supports decisions and works together. We are moving towards clearer, insight-led storytelling and simpler reporting, giving you scope to bring ideas, build effective approaches and make a visible difference.
What you’ll do
- Deliver monthly performance reporting: Report on the monthly Credit Risk performance cycle, ensuring reporting is accurate, timely, well controlled and focused on the decisions stakeholders need to make.
- Create the narrative: Move beyond describing the numbers. Connect trends, drivers and customer outcomes to explain what is happening, why it matters and what should happen next.
- Deliver actionable insight: Identify emerging risks and opportunities, commission or complete deeper analysis, and translate findings into clear recommendations.
- Shape senior conversations: Produce and present concise, engaging performance updates for governance forums and senior stakeholders, simplifying complex credit risk topics without losing the detail that matters.
- Improve reporting: Challenge duplication and manual effort, strengthen reporting standards and controls, and develop clearer self-service views where appropriate.
- Collaborate across teams: Build strong relationships across Credit Risk, Commercial, Trading, Finance, Product, Operations and Technology, bringing different perspectives together to land decisions.
- Support change: Help shape new reporting and governance approaches as the team develops, adapting quickly and bringing others with you.
- Develop capability: Share good practice in analysis, data visualisation and storytelling.
Essential Criteria –
- Relevant experience: Performance reporting experience, management information or portfolio insight in a bank, lender, credit provider or similarly data-led regulated environment.
- Strong performance storytelling: A track record of turning complex information into a clear, balanced narrative with implications, recommendations and next steps, rather than simply reporting figures.
- Credit or lending knowledge: A good understanding of consumer credit performance, portfolio monitoring and the relationship between customer outcomes, commercial growth and bad debt.
- Tableau capability: Practical experience using Tableau to explore data, develop or improve dashboards and create effective visualisations for different audiences.
- Analytical judgement: The curiosity to investigate root causes, test assumptions and distinguish genuine movement from noise.
- Influence and collaboration: The ability to build trusted relationships, listen to different perspectives, challenge constructively and help teams reach clear decisions. You can adapt your communication for senior audiences and bring people together around a shared outcome.
- Delivery focus: The organisation and resilience to manage a recurring reporting cycle alongside deeper analysis and change activity.
- Clear communication: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to make technical or analytical topics easy to understand
Technical skills
- Tableau: strong working knowledge is essential.
- Excel and PowerPoint: strong capability for analysis, quality assurance and senior-level communication.
- Experience working with large datasets, reporting controls and data-quality checks.
Desirable skills and experience:
- SQL: desirable, with the ability to query, validate and explore data independently.
- Knowledge of Python or other analytical tools would be useful but is not essential.
How you’ll work -
