About Remarkable
We are Remarkable – a leader in digital transformation, helping businesses create cutting-edge customer experiences through platforms like Sitecore, Optimizely, and Microsoft CRM. We specialise in using data-driven strategies and innovative technology to shape the future of customer engagement. With a focus on cloud, commerce, and scalable solutions, Remarkable Group partners with organisations to bring personalized digital experiences to life. If you're passionate about helping brands grow and thrive in a dynamic digital landscape, this is a place where you can make an impact!
We’re a collaborative, forward-thinking team that embraces new ideas, stays curious, and constantly explores the latest tools and trends. If you’re passionate about digital marketing, enjoy getting stuck into both the creative and analytical sides of search, and are ready to grow your skills alongside senior specialists, this is your next move.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the marketing team responsible for the growth of a global digital agency. You will lead the operational decisions within the Marketing team, whilst closely managing existing projects and campaigns to ensure successful delivery and demonstrable results. You’ll need to be ‘hands-on’ and relish the opportunity to develop a small, growing team of talented marketers.
Purpose of the Role
In a business that prides itself on Experiences that Convert, our CRO Programme Lead is key to delivering on that promise. You’ll lead experimentation programmes for clients ranging from single-brand ecommerce and lead-generation sites to complex multi-brand, multi-market organisations. You’ll set the direction and build the ways of working that connect testing to real commercial outcomes, not just statistical wins.
This is a strategic and hands-on role. You’ll lead the programme team and set the direction of the work, while doing much of it yourself: digging into the data, shaping hypotheses, and building, QA-ing and analysing tests.
Collaborate to accelerate is not just a poster on our walls, it’s key to how we operate. As CRO Programme Lead, you’ll be the lead voice on CRO in client meetings, working with everyone from day-to-day digital and experimentation owners to the C-suite. You’ll work alongside our UX, Creative, Platforms and Analytics colleagues, and on some engagements you’ll help clients build their own experimentation capability so it stays with them after we step back.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Programme Leadership
Set the direction for CRO programmes, from discovery and audit through to a prioritised, data-led testing roadmap and live testing.
Lead the programme team (typically a client success lead, a project manager and CRO practitioners), setting the direction and priorities for the work day-to-day. This is project leadership rather than line management.
Step into programmes at any stage, from new engagements to work already in progress, and quickly judge what is working and what needs to change.
Prioritise effort across pages, journeys, channels, and - where relevant - brands, markets or business units, based on opportunity, data quality and readiness.
Ways of Working & Governance
Define and embed experimentation standards covering ideation, prioritisation, build, QA and statistical rigour.
Build and govern backlogs, test repositories and learning processes so insight is shared and reused rather than lost.
Identify and resolve blockers to reliable measurement, such as tracking gaps, attribution issues, consent conflicts and disconnected tools.
Where engagements include it, build clients’ in-house capability through coaching, playbooks and handover.
Hands-on Experimentation
Dig into quantitative and qualitative data, using tools such as GA4, Adobe Analytics, Contentsquare and CRM data, to find opportunities and shape strong hypotheses.
Optimise across content, layout, component, journey and channel levels.
Build and QA tests on platforms such as Optimizely, VWO or Adobe Target, ensuring safe, high-quality delivery.
Analyse results with statistical rigour and report on outcomes clearly, including to teams who may not fully understand the numbers behind them.
Commercial Accountability
Connect test results to the metrics that matter to each client, such as revenue, margin, average order value or customer lifetime value, not just conversion rate.
Diagnose why statistical wins aren’t moving the commercial number, and adjust the programme accordingly.
Build the business case for experimentation with senior and finance stakeholders.
Client & Stakeholder Leadership
Be the lead voice on CRO in client meetings, from working sessions through to steering groups and executive reviews.
Align stakeholders who define success differently, from day-to-day owners to the C-suite.
Lead workshops and presentations that build client understanding of, and confidence in, experimentation.
Contribute to the evolution of Remarkable’s CRO practice, and support pitches and proposals.
Skills & Competencies
Programme & Leadership Experience
Proven experience leading CRO or experimentation programmes end to end, from audit and roadmap through to live testing and reporting.
Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams on CRO-led work, combining strategic direction with hands-on delivery.
Experience with larger or more complex organisations (multiple brands, markets or teams), or setting up or scaling an experimentation function, is an advantage.
Agency-side experience, or experience working closely with agency partners, is an advantage.
Experimentation & Statistics
Deep, hands-on experience building hypotheses, implementing tests and analysing results across A/B, multivariate and personalisation testing.
A strong grasp of experiment design and statistics, including sample size, power, significance and the common pitfalls in reading results.
Working knowledge of CRO platforms such as Optimizely, VWO, Adobe Target, Monetate or Glassbox Optimize.
Data, Analytics & Measurement
Strong analytics skills across GA4, Adobe Analytics, Contentsquare and similar tools.
Experience working with CRM, ecommerce and revenue data, and linking optimisation to commercial metrics.
Understanding of how tracking, attribution, consent and data quality affect test measurement.
Technical & Tools
Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript sufficient to build and QA tests is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with UX design techniques (wireframing and prototyping) and tools such as Figma.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and project tools such as Jira/Azure DevOps.
SEO or performance marketing knowledge is a plus.
BSc/BA in Marketing, Statistical Analysis, Strategy, or equivalent vocational experience.
Personal Attributes
Equally comfortable setting strategy and doing the hands-on work, and knows when each is needed.
A confident communicator who can hold the room with senior stakeholders and explain complex results simply.
Commercially minded: focuses on the numbers that matter to the business, not just test wins.
Pragmatic and structured, able to make progress without waiting for perfect data.
Diplomatic but direct, able to manage competing priorities across stakeholders.
Generous with knowledge and committed to building capability in others, in our team and in client teams.
Curious and always learning, keeping ahead of developments in experimentation, data and AI.
ISO
Support the development and implementation of the agency’s information security strategy and policies in alignment with ISO 27001:2022 standards.
Conduct high-level risk assessments to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and oversee internal and external audits.
Lead in responding to security incidents affecting your team and allocating necessary resources to support the information security programme.
Ensure attendance at management review meetings and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the agency’s information security posture.
