As a Customer Quality Engineer, you will be the key quality interface for our customers in the assigned region, responsible for managing customer quality concerns from initial investigation through resolution and corrective action. You will work closely with customers and cross-functional teams across Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, and Technical functions to understand quality issues, identify root causes, and drive effective solutions. This role requires a strong customer focus, technical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a global, fast-paced environment.
About the Job:
- Act as the primary point of contact for all customer quality-related communications, both internally and externally.
- Work directly with customers to investigate, verify, and understand product and system-level quality issues.
- Manage customer quality complaints and provide timely updates on investigation progress, corrective actions, and resolution.
- Coordinate cross-functional root cause analysis and corrective actions to address customer quality issues effectively.
- Provide feedback to internal teams on customer quality standards, expectations, and product requirements.
- Prepare and maintain quality reports and documentation required by customers.
- Manage the customer product return process related to quality issues.
- Coordinate and support customer audits and work with plant Quality teams to address audit findings and improve the quality management system.
- Support initiatives to improve customer quality scorecards and overall customer satisfaction.
- Drive continuous improvement activities based on customer feedback and quality performance.
- Support occasional travel to customers and sites as required.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related function.
- 3+ years of experience in Customer Quality Engineering or a similar customer-facing quality role.
- Strong experience with root cause analysis, failure investigation, and corrective action.
- Experience working with complex electronic, electrical, or mechanical assemblies; knowledge of circuit protection technology is a strong advantage.
- Good understanding of manufacturing principles and manufacturing engineering techniques.
- Working knowledge of quality tools including FMEA, Control Plans, Pareto analysis, control charts, cause-and-effect analysis, and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949; automotive industry experience is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to investigating complex issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage.
- Experience working in a multinational organization is preferred.
- Team-oriented, proactive, and responsive, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel as required.
