The Opportunity
At Alera Group, our Property & Casualty team partners with businesses to identify risks, protect assets, and deliver insurance solutions that support long-term success. As a Customer Service - Agent, you'll help build trusted client relationships, deliver exceptional service, and provide proactive guidance that helps clients confidently navigate an evolving risk landscape.
Responsibilities
- Manage client communications related to renewals, policy changes, audits, billing, and coverage questions
- Respond promptly to client inquiries regarding coverage, claims, billing, and policy servicing matters
- Issue certificates of insurance and maintain accurate policy documentation
- Service a portfolio of commercial accounts across a variety of industries
- Process endorsements, cancellations, certificates, and other policy transactions
- Prepare renewal submissions, applications, proposals, and supporting documentation for new and existing business
- Coordinate with carriers and underwriters to obtain quotes and coverage options for renewal opportunities
- Maintain accurate information within agency management systems while adhering to regulatory and company standards
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Active Property & Casualty Insurance License or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe
- Minimum 2 years of commercial lines servicing experience preferred
- Working knowledge of commercial insurance products including general liability, property, workers' compensation, commercial auto, and umbrella coverages
- Proficiency with agency management systems such as Applied Epic, AMS360, or similar platforms
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field
- Experience supporting commercial insurance Account Managers and Producers
- Professional designation such as CISR, CIC, or similar credential
- Experience reviewing insurance policies, coverage forms, and related documentation
- Ability to analyze exposures and support coverage recommendations
- Experience working directly with carrier representatives and underwriting teams
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and industry education
- Experience managing a book of business in an agency or brokerage environment

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required to support office implementations, training, and collaboration with project teams.
