Purpose of the Position

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Customs Declarant for Norway to join our international customs operations team.

In this role, you will be responsible for handling import and export declarations for shipments to and from Norway, as well as supporting transit procedures and bonded warehouse activities.

You will ensure that customs declarations and supporting trade documentation are processed accurately and in accordance with applicable regulations. You will also cooperate closely with suppliers, carriers, recipients and internal customs teams to ensure smooth and efficient cross-border operations.

This is a permanent, full-time position. The team operates Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 18:00, with individual working hours arranged according to the operational schedule.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and process customs declarations for import and export shipments to and from Norway

• Handle transit procedures and maintain accurate bonded warehouse records

• Register, review and perform quality assurance checks on customs and trade documentation

• Ensure customs declarations comply with applicable import and export laws, regulations and procedures

• Perform goods classification and ensure accurate customs data is used in declarations

• Provide guidance regarding documentation requirements for border crossings

• Cooperate with suppliers, carriers, recipients and internal customs teams to ensure efficient customs clearance

• Identify and resolve issues related to customs documentation and clearance procedures

• Maintain high standards of accuracy, compliance and service quality

Requirements

• Relevant professional experience in customs, logistics, freight forwarding, international trade or a related field, gained in the private or public sector

• Knowledge of current customs laws, regulations and procedures related to import and export

• Practical experience in customs declarations and goods classification

• Understanding of transit procedures and customs documentation

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and customs clearance software

• Very Good written and spoken English

• Knowledge of Norwegian or another Scandinavian language would be an advantage

• Strong attention to detail and a structured and precise approach to work

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

• Flexible, proactive and solution-oriented approach

• Strong communication and collaboration skills
