About the Team
Research & Insights is the team that helps Salmon understand its customers, market, and business opportunities. The CX/UX Research team sits within it and works side by side with Product and Design, turning customer evidence into better product decisions.
As Salmon continues to scale, the need for hands-on, in-depth customer understanding grows with it. This team works closely with Product, Design, Marketing, Strategy, and Operations to make sure decisions are informed by real user behavior, not assumptions.
We're looking for curious, hands-on researchers who enjoy getting close to users, uncovering insights, and helping teams act on them.
About the Role
As a CX/UX Researcher, you will expand hands-on research capacity across Salmon's product portfolio. You'll work closely with product designers and PMs to run studies from kickoff to readout, including interviews, usability tests, and journey mapping, and help teams make decisions based on evidence.
This is a hands-on role. You'll run your own fieldwork, recruit participants, moderate sessions, and write reports. You'll also help build the research infrastructure: intake standards, a methods library, and a research repository the whole product team can use.
This is an excellent opportunity for a researcher who wants to see their work shape products used by real customers, and to help build a research function from an early stage.
What You'll Do
Research Planning & Execution
Plan and run moderated usability tests, in-depth interviews, and quantitative/unmoderated studies
Own assigned studies end-to-end: recruitment, moderation, analysis, and reporting
Maintain a research backlog together with the research lead, and align priorities with product and design teams
Participant Recruitment & Fieldwork
Recruit and screen participants, and manage logistics including panel vendors, screeners, and incentives
Run virtual and in-person fieldwork and ensure a positive participant experience
Conduct field research directly with users, which is expected and resourced
Collaboration with Product & Design
Work closely with product designers and PMs: participate in team rituals, discuss research priorities, and align on study scope and timing
Facilitate synthesis workshops, insight reviews, and journey mapping sessions with design and product teams
Negotiate research priorities with stakeholders, and push back when needed
Journey Mapping & Insights Reporting
Build and maintain customer journey maps for prioritized product areas
Write clear, decision-ready reports and present findings to product teams
Drive change based on research: track whether insights are actioned, follow up with teams, and escalate blockers to the research lead
Research Operations
Contribute to research repository standards, the intake process, and the methods guild
Help build the processes and tools that make research faster and more reusable across the product team
What Makes You a Strong Fit
2+ years in UX research for consumer products
Track record of running moderated tests and in-depth interviews independently
Experience facilitating workshops and collaborative sessions with design and product teams
Ability to discuss and negotiate research priorities with PMs and designers, and comfort pushing back when needed
Experience creating journey maps, personas, or service blueprints
Proven ability to drive change based on research: you track whether findings are actioned, not just delivered
Comfortable operating with limited process; you help build it rather than wait for it
Clear, concise writing for non-research audiences
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Filipino/Tagalog
Knowledge & Domain Expertise
Interest or familiarity with:
UX and customer experience research
Qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
Customer journey mapping and service design
Research operations and repository management
Evidence-based product decision-making
Bonus
Experience in credit, lending, payments, or fintech
Exposure to banking, technology, or consumer-focused industries
Experience working with panel vendors and research recruitment platforms
