Description

Basic Description:

As a Cyber Security Engineer at Flat Branch, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization's information systems and data from cyber threats. You will work closely with the IT team to implement and maintain security measures, identify vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents. The Cyber Security Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the overall security of the organization and help maintain compliance with

relevant regulations and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and Incident Response:
  • Monitor security systems and analyze security logs to identify potential security incidents or anomalies.
  • Assist in incident response activities, including containment, analysis, and recovery.
  • Vulnerability Management:
  • Review vulnerability assessments and scans of systems, networks, and applications.
  • Assist in the identification and prioritization of vulnerabilities and coordinate with IT teams for remediation.
  • Security Controls and Systems:
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus solutions, and access controls.
  • Monitor and configure security systems to ensure optimal performance and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Security Policy and Compliance:
  • Assist in developing and enforcing cyber security policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Contribute to compliance efforts with relevant regulations and industry frameworks.
  • Security Awareness and Training:
  • Collaborate with the multiple departments to maintain and deliver cyber security awareness programs to employees.
  • Assist in providing guidance and support to employees on best practices for information security.
  • Incident Documentation and Reporting:
  • Document security incidents, including their impact, response actions, and lessons learned.
  • Prepare reports and metrics on cyber security incidents, vulnerabilities, and trends.
  • Emerging Threat Monitoring and Research:
  • Stay up to date with the latest cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
  • Conduct research and analysis on emerging technologies, tools, and techniques related to cyber security.
  • Investigate and recommend products, tools, and techniques to improve enterprise security.
  • Create and review system diagrams to make recommendations or assess security risk


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in cyber security, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years’ experience in a cyber engineering role.
  • Relevant certifications such as Security+, Network+, SSCP, or CISSP.
  • Intermediate understanding of information security principles, concepts, and technologies.
  • Familiarity with common security tools, such as firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and network architecture.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Salary Description
$110k-$150k
