Cyber Security Engineer

Role Description The Cyber Security Engineer role is a full-time hybrid position based in Tirana, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls across applications, networks, and systems. The Cyber Security Engineer will perform regular vulnerability assessments, monitor security events, analyze threats, and respond to incidents to minimize risk. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with development and IT teams to embed security into projects, documenting security policies and procedures, and staying current with emerging cyber threats and best practices. The role also includes supporting security audits, training colleagues on security awareness, and contributing to continuous improvement of the organization’s security posture.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Application Security and secure software development practices to protect web and software solutions.
• Hands-on experience in Cybersecurity and Information Security, including threat detection, incident response, and security governance.
• Proficiency in Network Security, such as configuring firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure network architectures.
• Experience conducting Vulnerability Assessment activities, including scanning, prioritizing findings, and coordinating remediation.
• Familiarity with common security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP) and relevant tools (SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to analyze complex technical issues, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and document security processes.
• Comfort working in a hybrid environment in Tirana, collaborating across teams, and maintaining a proactive, detail-oriented approach to security.
• Professional certifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar are a plus.
