Cyber Security Specialist

An established engineering and technical services organisation is looking for an experienced cyber security professional to join the team. This role focuses on supporting diverse clients in managing IT security and compliance incidents through structured and effective response strategies. You will handle complex security incidents, perform deep-dive forensics, and conduct advanced assessments to strengthen organisational resilience against modern threats.

What you'll be doing

• Managing the full lifecycle of security incidents, from initial analysis and reconstruction of attacks to implementing containment and hardening measures.

• Developing and evaluating detection and response concepts utilizing SIEM, EDR/XDR, and SOAR technologies.

• Conducting security, compromise, and incident readiness assessments to identify and close gaps in processes and technology.

• Executing penetration tests and adversary operations, including red and purple teaming, to simulate real-world attacker tactics.

• Acting as a technical consultant and project lead, collaborating with SOC and management teams to provide expert reports and executive summaries.

What we're looking for

• Degree in a STEM field focusing on IT security or digital forensics, or equivalent practical experience in the field.

• Extensive experience in Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR), threat hunting, and understanding of frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.

• Recognized professional certifications such as GCFE, GNFA, GCIH, or equivalent industry-standard qualifications.

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to communicate complex technical details to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.

• Fluency in English and a willingness to travel for client projects and incident response deployments.
