Cyber Security Specialist

An established engineering and certification business is looking for an experienced technical specialist to join the team. This role focuses on supporting diverse clients in managing complex IT security incidents and improving defensive capabilities through structured analysis and simulation. The successful candidate will work within a dedicated security operations environment to identify vulnerabilities and implement effective response strategies.

What you'll be doing

• Managing security incidents by reconstructing complex attacks along the kill chain and implementing containment measures

• Developing and evaluating detection and response concepts including SIEM, EDR/XDR, and SOAR frameworks

• Performing security, compromise, and incident readiness assessments to close gaps in processes and technology

• Conducting penetration tests and adversary operations such as red/purple teaming to simulate real-world attacker tactics

• Acting as a technical advisor to management and IT teams while producing forensic reports and executive summaries

What we're looking for

• A degree in a STEM field with a focus on IT security or digital forensics, or equivalent practical experience

• Deep expertise in digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) and understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework

• Professional certifications in the security field such as GCFE, GNFA, GCIH, or similar industry-standard qualifications

• Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to both technical teams and executive leadership

• Fluency in English and a willingness to travel for client projects and incident response deployments
