Cyber Security Specialist

An established engineering and certification organisation is looking for an experienced technical specialist to join the cyber security and reaction service team. The role focuses on managing complex security incidents and providing high-level technical consultancy to help organisations strengthen their resilience against modern threats. You will work independently to reconstruct sophisticated attacks while developing proactive detection and response strategies for a diverse client base.

What you'll be doing

• Managing the end-to-end lifecycle of security incidents, from initial analysis and reconstruction along the kill chain to containment and hardening.

• Developing and evaluating detection and response concepts using SIEM, EDR/XDR, and SOAR technologies.

• Conducting security, compromise, and incident readiness assessments to identify and close gaps in processes and technology.

• Performing penetration tests and adversary operations, including red and purple teaming, to simulate real-world attacker tactics.

• Acting as a technical consultant and project lead, collaborating with management and technical teams to present findings and forensic reports.

What we're looking for

• A degree in a STEM field with a focus on IT security or digital forensics, paired with significant professional experience in the field.

• Deep expertise in digital forensics and incident response (DFIR), threat hunting, and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.

• Recognised professional certifications such as GCFE, GNFA, GCIH, or equivalent industry-standard qualifications.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to both technical teams and executive management.

• Fluency in English and a willingness to travel for project-related assignments and emergency incident response.
