Cybersecurity Engineer

Direct Hire | $85,000 - $120,000 Base Salary Our client is growing their Cybersecurity team and is looking to add two Cyber Security Engineers to support an expanding security program. Historically, the organization has operated with a lean engineering team made up of highly versatile "jack-of-all-trades" professionals. As the company continues to mature, they are investing in specialized talent across both the Infrastructure and Security functions to improve focus, scalability, and overall security posture. The ideal candidate will be located within driving distance of Kenosha, WI and able to work onsite 2-3 days per week in a hybrid capacity. However, the client is open to considering highly qualified remote candidates, particularly those located in the Midwest (including the Chicago area) who can commit to occasional onsite visits throughout the year. Key Responsibilities Monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents and threats Perform vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts Manage and optimize SIEM, EDR, and threat detection capabilities Support security operations, monitoring, and incident response activities Assist with security awareness and phishing simulation programs Contribute to security governance initiatives and framework alignment Required Skills Cybersecurity Engineering Vulnerability Management / Vulnerability Assessment Incident Response SIEM Administration and Monitoring Palo Alto Security Technologies Preferred Qualifications Experience with Palo Alto Cortex (MDR/XDR) Knowledge of security governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) practices Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF Experience running security awareness and phishing campaigns (ZenGuide experience is a plus) Background supporting SIEM, EDR, and Threat & Vulnerability Management (TVM) programs This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on security professional who enjoys balancing operational security, threat management, and security program development within a growing organization. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
