The Role

The DSPM Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting Data Security Posture Management solutions across enterprise environments. The role focuses on discovering, classifying, monitoring, and protecting sensitive data across on-premises, cloud, SaaS, and hybrid platforms while ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational security requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-wide Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) strategies, architectures, and operating models.
• Lead data discovery, classification, and governance initiatives across Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, GCP, SaaS, and on-premises environments.
• Identify and assess data security risks, including overexposed data, excessive permissions, sensitive data sprawl, and misconfigured repositories.
• Develop and enforce data governance frameworks aligned with GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, NIST, and other regulatory requirements.
• Integrate DSPM solutions with DLP, SIEM, IAM, PAM, ticketing, and security orchestration platforms.
• Define remediation strategies and automate security workflows to improve data protection and compliance posture.
• Conduct security assessments, workshops, and stakeholder consultations to drive DSPM adoption and best practices.
• Support audit readiness, compliance reporting, pre-sales activities, and knowledge transfer initiatives.
• Design and implement Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) solutions, driving data governance, discovery, classification, and risk management across enterprise environments.
• Utilize DSPM platforms such as Microsoft Purview DSPM, Cyera, Rubrik, Varonis, and BigID to identify, classify, and secure sensitive data.
• Assess and remediate data security risks, including excessive permissions, exposed sensitive data, and compliance gaps across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Implement data protection controls using Microsoft Purview Information Protection, DLP, Insider Risk Management, encryption, and key management technologies.
• Secure and govern data across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Develop and support enterprise-wide data governance programs aligned with privacy, security, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to provide strategic guidance, lead security initiatives, and deliver scalable data protection solutions.

Required Technical and Professional Experience

• 7+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, Data Security, Data Governance, or Information Protection, with expertise in securing enterprise data environments.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience implementing, managing, or supporting Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) solutions across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security architectures across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including data protection and governance controls.
• Experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data security programs, including data discovery, classification, risk management, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Proven ability to work in consulting or managed services environments, collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to provide strategic security guidance.

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise

• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator, Cybersecurity Architect Expert, Security Operations Analyst, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or CRISC are highly preferred.
