ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support a large-scale enterprise migration from Box to SharePoint. This is a business-critical programme affecting more than 40,000 users across a global organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, Technical Migration Lead, business stakeholders, IT teams and governance functions to profile, prepare and validate the content and data being migrated.
This role has a strong practical focus on data discovery, cleansing, migration readiness and quality assurance. You will analyse Box content and associated metadata, identify duplicate, obsolete and redundant material, support mapping into the future SharePoint environment, and provide clear data insight to inform migration decisions and wave planning. You must be confident working with high volumes of content and data, translating findings into actionable recommendations, and maintaining a robust audit trail throughout a complex migration programme.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyse source data and content held in Box, including document inventories, folder structures, metadata, ownership, permissions and usage patterns.
- Profile data quality and identify issues such as incomplete, inconsistent, duplicate, obsolete or redundant content ahead of migration.
- Perform and support data cleansing, standardisation, enrichment and preparation activities to ensure content is suitable for migration to SharePoint.
- Define and maintain migration data sets, reconciliation reports, exception logs and quality dashboards for migration planning, testing and deployment.
- Support the mapping of Box structures, metadata, permissions and ownership models into the future-state SharePoint design.
- Work with business owners and technical teams to resolve data-quality issues, confirm retention decisions and agree actions for content to migrate, archive or delete.
- Assist with data discovery and migration-wave planning by providing accurate analysis of content volumes, complexity, readiness and risk.
- Develop and execute data-validation checks before and after migration, including completeness, accuracy, metadata, document counts, permissions and access controls.
- Support testing, UAT and business validation of migrated content, investigating discrepancies and contributing to root-cause analysis.
- Produce clear, concise reporting for project governance, including data-quality metrics, migration readiness, risks, issues, exceptions and outstanding decisions.
- Maintain auditable documentation of data rules, transformation logic, mappings, validation results and business approvals.
- Collaborate effectively with the Technical Migration Lead, Project Manager, business stakeholders and change teams in a fully remote delivery environment.
MUST-HAVE SKILLS
SharePoint Migration Experience
CRITICAL
You will have demonstrable experience of supporting enterprise content, document or data migrations into SharePoint. You must understand SharePoint document libraries, site and folder structures, metadata, content types, permissions, access controls and ownership models, and be able to apply this knowledge when preparing and validating migrated content.
Data Cleansing, Preparation and Quality Assurance
CORE
You will have hands-on experience profiling, cleansing and preparing data or content for migration. This includes identifying and resolving data-quality issues; managing duplicate, obsolete and redundant content; applying standardisation and validation rules; and producing reliable reconciliations and exception reporting. Experience working with large, complex and imperfect source data sets is essential.
Box-to-SharePoint Mapping and Migration Support
CORE
You will be able to analyse source content in Box and support its migration into SharePoint, including mapping folders, metadata, permissions, ownership and retention-related attributes. You will work closely with technical migration specialists to ensure that business and data requirements are reflected accurately in migration rules, templates and validation processes.
Data Analysis and Reporting
REQUIRED
You will have strong analytical skills and be confident using tools such as Excel and/or SQL to analyse high volumes of data, investigate anomalies and produce clear, decision-ready reporting. Experience creating data-quality dashboards or reporting through Power BI, Power Query or similar tools is advantageous. You must be able to communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Migration Testing and Reconciliation
REQUIRED
You will have experience supporting migration testing, UAT and post-migration validation. This includes reconciling source and target content, validating metadata and permissions, investigating exceptions, documenting outcomes and supporting business sign-off. A methodical approach to evidence, traceability and auditability is essential.
KEY ATTRIBUTES

- Able to work independently while collaborating closely with business and technical stakeholders.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn analysis into concise recommendations.
- Structured and conscientious in maintaining documentation, controls and audit trails.

- Experience in a regulated or highly controlled environment - helpful where permissions, audit, security and compliance are particularly important.
- Experience working on global or enterprise-scale migrations - useful for managing high content volumes, distributed stakeholders and migration waves.
WHY APPLY?
- Support a major enterprise migration affecting more than 40,000 users globally.
- Work on a high-profile Microsoft 365 and SharePoint transformation programme.
- Play a central role in improving data quality, migration readiness and confidence in the target environment.
- Collaborate with experienced project, technical migration and business teams within a fully remote delivery model.
