Role: Lead Commercial Analyst
Location: Hybrid (3 days per week Clapham Junction, 2 days remote)
We’re The Gym Group...
We’re one of the UK’s leading fitness businesses. With more than one million members, 265+ gyms and ambitious plans to keep growing, we’re the UK’s second-largest gym operator by membership and the fourth largest in Europe.
Our mission is simple: to break down barriers to fitness for all. We’re large enough to make a meaningful difference, but agile enough for individuals to influence how we grow. Technology, data and new ideas play a central role - and you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership, challenge how things are done and see the impact of your work.
Just as importantly, we’re a people-first business where everyone is encouraged to be themselves. We’ve been named one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work and awarded Investors in People Gold, alongside a host of other awards recognising our culture and our people.
About the role...
This is a senior analytics role with real influence - you will partner directly with our Product and Retention teams to shape strategic decisions, design how we measure success and identify the commercial opportunities that help us keep our members and grow the business. If you are an analyst who wants to move beyond reporting and genuinely drive outcomes, this is the role for you.
What you'll be doing...
- Partnering with Product and Retention teams to identify, size and evaluate strategic initiatives using data
- Designing measurement frameworks that define success before initiatives go live and evaluating outcomes after launch
- Leading payment performance reporting and identifying opportunities to improve payment success and reduce member churn
- Delivering complex end-to-end analytical projects independently, from problem definition through to recommendation
- Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Product, Commercial, Marketing, Operations and Technology and influencing business priorities
- Communicating findings clearly through strong data visualisation and storytelling tailored to senior, non-technical audiences
- Supporting and mentoring analysts in the team, helping raise standards and ways of working across the function
- Identifying opportunities to improve analytics through automation, new tools and AI
About you...
- Advanced SQL skills and the ability to independently extract and analyse complex datasets
- Proven experience leading analytical projects end-to-end in a commercial or consumer-facing environment
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to translate data into business decisions
- Excellent communication and data storytelling skills, with experience influencing senior stakeholders
- Experience designing measurement frameworks and evaluating business or product performance
- A proactive, curious approach - someone who spots opportunities, challenges assumptions and drives improvement
