A Berlin-based logistics provider is currently partnering with us to overhaul their supply chain reporting, and we need a Data Analyst Assistant to help organize the information coming out of their older systems. You will work alongside our developers to ensure that the data we migrate from messy spreadsheets into our new databases is accurate and ready for use. This is a full-time, permanent position where you will spend your time looking through shipping records to find the patterns that help a real business function more efficiently.
About Pixel Systems
Pixel Systems is a small, fully remote software agency that builds the tools teams actually use. We do not build flashy social media apps or marketing websites. Instead, we focus on the practical stuff: admin panels, CRM integrations, and the database migrations that most teams try to avoid. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling, broken spreadsheet with a real database or get their different software tools to finally talk to one another.
We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward. We provide fixed quotes before we start, we perform weekly demos, and we hand over everything (the code, the documentation, and walkthrough videos) when we are finished. We use reliable, well-tested technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy to maintain. We are a team of professionals who prefer solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest trends.
The role
As a Data Analyst Assistant, your primary task is to support our senior developers by managing the data layer of our projects. You will spend a lot of time cleaning up legacy data and mapping it to new structures. This is not about high-level strategy: it is about the quiet, important work of making sure a logistics company knows exactly where their containers are. You will be identifying duplicates, fixing formatting errors, and helping us build basic dashboards that our clients use to run their daily operations.
Because this is a remote role, you will be expected to document your findings clearly so that the rest of the team can follow your logic without needing a meeting. You will also assist in verifying that data has moved correctly from one system to another by running basic queries and comparing results. This is an entry-level position where you can learn the fundamentals of how professional databases are structured and maintained.
What you bring
We are looking for someone who is organized and enjoys the process of turning chaos into order. You do not need years of professional experience, but you should have a solid grasp of how data is structured and how to stay productive in a remote environment. We value people who are honest about what they know and what they are still learning.
- Excellent attention to detail and a patient approach to repetitive tasks.
- Comfort working with Excel or Google Sheets, including basic formulas and sorting.
- A basic understanding of how databases work (tables, rows, and columns).
- Clear written communication skills for documentation and team updates.
- Ability to manage your own time without someone looking over your shoulder.
- A logical approach to solving problems and identifying errors in large data sets.
- Reliability and a commitment to meeting project deadlines.
Helpful background
While this is an entry-level role, we appreciate it if you have tinkered with the tools we use on a daily basis. Any experience with the following will help you get up to speed faster:
- Basic SQL knowledge (SELECT, FROM, WHERE statements).
- Familiarity with Postgres or other relational databases.
- Basic knowledge of GitHub for version control.
- An interest in learning how APIs move data between different software platforms.
- Exposure to JavaScript or Node.js through personal projects or coursework.
Working at Pixel Systems
Working here is different from a typical corporate job. We are a small team of developers and designers who prefer solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest trends. There are no layers of management to move through and no unnecessary meetings. We value honesty and pragmatic solutions. If a database migration is going to take longer than expected, we tell the client the truth and get it done.
This role is a paid position, and the compensation is competitive for the entry-level market. Since we are a fully remote company, you will have the flexibility to work from wherever you are most productive, as long as you can stay connected with the team and get your work finished. We provide the stability of a permanent role with the focus of a small, specialized agency.
We are a team that values stability and clear results. We are not looking for someone to change the world, just someone who wants to help us build software that works for the people who need it most. Our projects help warehouse managers and logistics coordinators get through their day with fewer errors and less stress. If you like the idea of working on practical problems in a quiet, focused environment, you will fit in well here.
