The US Oncology Network is looking for a Data Analyst Intern to join our team at Texas Oncology!

This internship is a remote role and requires the candidate to reside within Texas, with a preference to candidates in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

The primary focus of this role is to assist with collecting, analyzing, validating, and reporting financial, operational, clinical, and healthcare data to support organizational decision-making. Will support the Analytics team in developing reports, dashboards, and data-driven insights that inform business decisions. Gains exposure to healthcare analytics, data management, reporting tools, and business intelligence processes while working alongside experienced analysts. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, validating, and organizing data from various internal systems and databases
• Support the development and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and analytical tools
• Perform data cleansing, quality assurance, and data validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity
• Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities under the guidance of senior team members
• Assist in the development of key operational and financial metrics and recurring management reports
• Create reports, dashboards, data visualizations, and presentations to communicate analytical findings to business stakeholders
• Support ad hoc and special projects related to financial, operational, and clinical analytics
• Document data definitions, business rules, processes, and analytical methodologies
• Collaborate with team members to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
• Participate in team meetings, project discussions, and training opportunities
• Other duties and projects assigned

Skills Needed to be Successful in this Role

• Basic knowledge of SQL and data analysis concepts
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation
• Preferred Skills: Exposure to healthcare analytics, financial analytics, business intelligence, or data science coursework preferred; familiarity with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence and data visualization tools; exposure to Python, R, or other analytical programming languages
• Non-Technical Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment

Qualifications

Minimum Hiring Qualifications

• Currently pursuing bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited program in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Healthcare Administration - must be graduating between December 2027 through May 2028
• Must be able to demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
