Job Description

This is a remote position.

The Data Analyst plays a critical role in transforming data into reliable business intelligence for the Spanish organization.

The role supports operational performance, financial control, customer and merchant insights, and evidence-based decision-making across a transaction-intensive business environment.

You will partner with Business, Finance, Operations, Product, Technology, Data Engineering, and Data Governance teams to consolidate information from multiple platforms, define trusted KPIs, investigate discrepancies, and provide a consistent view of customers, transactions, billing, and operational processes.

The position also contributes to ongoing data transformation initiatives while ensuring strong standards around data governance, quality, security, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Decision Support

  • Collect, challenge, and translate business needs into clear analytical questions, metrics, dashboards, and data products.

  • Partner with business and functional teams to understand performance drivers and provide insight-led recommendations.

  • Deliver recurring and ad-hoc analysis supporting operational decisions, growth initiatives, service quality, and management reporting.

  • Clearly communicate findings, assumptions, limitations, and recommended actions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Data Analysis, Integration & Reconciliation

  • Analyze and reconcile data from multiple systems, databases, files, and external partners.

  • Identify gaps and inconsistencies between different data sources.

  • Investigate discrepancies and perform root-cause analysis, particularly across transaction, payment, ordering, billing, invoicing, and financial-control processes.

  • Design and maintain unified analytical datasets and repeatable controls providing a reliable and traceable view of business activity.

  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and source-system owners to define transformation rules, resolve data defects, and improve data availability.

Analytics, Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize operational and management dashboards, primarily using Power BI and, where relevant, Qlik Sense, Metabase, or comparable BI tools.

  • Use advanced SQL to query, transform, validate, and analyze large datasets.

  • Apply Python and/or R for statistical analysis, automation, or repeatable analytical processing.

  • Create meaningful visualizations and data stories that make complex findings understandable and actionable.

  • Apply analytical and statistical techniques including:

    • Trend analysis

    • Segmentation

    • Forecasting

    • Regression

    • Control sampling

    • Anomaly detection

KPI Definition, Data Governance & Quality

  • Define and document business metrics and KPIs, including calculation rules, ownership, source systems, refresh frequency, and quality thresholds.

  • Contribute to data glossary, metadata, data lineage, and master-data initiatives.

  • Establish and monitor data-quality controls covering completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, uniqueness, and traceability.

  • Ensure data is handled in accordance with security, privacy, access-control, retention, and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work closely with local and international stakeholders across Data Engineering, Architecture, Security, Data Governance, Finance, Operations, Product, and Technology.

  • Contribute to data integration, platform migration, and reporting-modernization initiatives.

  • Ensure continuity of KPIs, reporting, and controls during system or platform transitions.

  • Maintain clear documentation for datasets, dashboards, analytical models, business rules, and controls.

  • Manage priorities transparently and contribute to agile planning and delivery processes.

  • Take ownership of agreed analytical outcomes.



Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a comparable analytical role.

  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple data sources and translating business questions into robust analytical and reporting solutions.

  • Experience with data integration, migration, reconciliation, or data-quality improvement initiatives is highly valued.

  • Experience within multinational, digital, fintech, payments, retail, employee-benefits, or other transaction-intensive environments is advantageous.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced SQL, including:

    • Complex queries

    • Data transformation

    • Data validation

    • Performance awareness

    • Database optimization

  • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI.

  • Knowledge of Qlik Sense, Metabase, or comparable visualization platforms is advantageous.

  • Working knowledge of Python and/or R for data analysis, automation, and statistical modelling.

  • Understanding of analytical data modelling concepts including:

    • Star schemas

    • Slowly changing dimensions

    • Dashboard-ready semantic models

  • Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, metadata, data lineage, and KPI-management practices.

  • Experience with ClickHouse is a plus.

  • Understanding of hybrid or cloud data architectures, ideally within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, is advantageous.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant quantitative discipline.

Languages

  • Fluent Spanish – required

  • Professional English – required

  • French, Portuguese, or additional European languages are an advantage.
